Job DescriptionAre you a UX Designer with 5+ years of experience, and a strong portfolio demonstrating experience designing for B2B SaaS applications? Do you obsess over understanding users, their needs, and their goals? Are you constantly thinking about the most intuitive workflows and designs? Do you thrive on solving complex problems with the simplest solutions?If so, Grant Street Group may be the perfect fit for you. As a software company specializing in government products, we believe design is a key part in creating effective, efficient, and taxpayer friendly solutions.We’re looking for someone to join our UX department and partner with our Business Analysts, Product Managers, and Sales and Marketing teams to create intuitive, scalable, and user-friendly interfaces that drive engagement and efficiency of complex applications.What will you have the opportunity to do in this position?Plan and execute user research studies such as contextual inquiries, user surveys, and usability tests.Analyze user requirements and business needs through use cases, user research, and user flows.Create design concepts, information architecture, wireframes, detailed user interface designs, interactive prototypes and user interface specifications for various applications.Work closely with the development and testing teams in the implementation and testing of user interfaces.Create and maintain user experience guidelines and design standards.Some of the projects we’ve focused on recently include:Researching, prototyping, and designing a brand new Taxing Entity Portal, which combines several laborious processes into one sleek portal, saving time and reducing frustration between our Tax Collector clients and the Taxing Districts they collect taxes for.Testing our applications for accessibility and ADA compliance, and working with our product development teams to ensure that all of our clients’ customers can use our sites seamlessly.Here are a few of the specific things we are looking for:Experience:Identifying UX issues.Using UI/UX design best practices.Planning & conducting user research (in Userlytics, Lyssna, etc.).Making informed design decisions using qualitative and quantitative data.Using Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD for creating high-fidelity mockups.Ensuring designs align with overall business goals, meeting the needs of both users and stakeholders.Iterating on design concepts using rapid prototyping, incorporating feedback from product managers and stakeholders.Solid understanding of:Mobile-first and responsive design.WCAG accessibility guidelines.HTML and CSS.Strong commitment to owning your projects and seeing them through to successful completion.A knack for solving complex problems, simply.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Tailoring your communication to diverse audiences (clients, stakeholders, product leads, developers, etc).Clearly & concisely articulating design decisions, the rationale behind those decisions, and how it aligns with or supports client/company/product goals.Hunger and ability to learn complex tools/technologies.Willingness to travel on occasion (around 5%).
