As a Product Engineer, you will play a crucial role in HDD-Media-Head performance characterization.You would guide Media Process Engineering team to optimize process to deliver best Media performance at HDD.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product specifications and requirements (PM, Development and Process Engineering teams)Optimize existing products for improved yield performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturabilitySupport Media performance optimization from development to high volume productionStay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and manufacturing processesEnsure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulationsDrive digitalization initiatives in manufacturingImplementing data-driven decision-making using advanced analytics.Utilize AI/ML models for predictive analysis of yield, reliability, and performance trends.Develop and maintain real-time dashboards for KPI monitoringQualificationsBachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, or related field2-3 years of experience in Manufacturing or Semiconductor industryStrong knowledge of data analytics tools (JMP, Minitab, SQL) and exposure to Python/R for data scienceFamiliarity with industry-specific knowledge (HDD or Media process related experience would be added advantage)Update to date on Industry 4.0 technologies, automation, and smart factory trends.Excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skillsProven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and meet deadlinesStrong communication and teamwork skillsWillingness to travel occasionally for on-site manufacturing support or client meetingsExperience with cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plusAdditional InformationWestern Digital thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
