We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems for a growing product-driven company. You’ll own critical backend components, contribute to architecture decisions, and mentor junior engineers in a fully remote environment.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using PHP (Laravel, Yii2)
- Build secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems
- Design and optimize data models using MySQL / MariaDB and MongoDB
- Implement caching, queues, and background jobs using Redis
- Participate in architectural and technical decision-making
- Collaborate closely with frontend, mobile, and product teams
- Review code, enforce best practices, and mentor junior engineers
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of backend development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with PHP (Laravel & Yii2)
- Solid knowledge of relational databases (MySQL / MariaDB)
- Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
- Practical experience with Redis
- Strong understanding of API design, performance, and security
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
- Good English communication skills
- Own laptop and readiness to work remotely
