Requirements and responsibilities

Location: Chile or Mexico, Remote.Type: Contractor-Full TimeAbout UsOttimate is an AI-powered AP [Accounts Payable] automation platform that empowers finance teams to reduce costs, prevent overpayments, detect fraud, and enforce policy compliance across the entire invoice-to-payment lifecycle. The RoleOttimate is looking for a high-rigor Senior BI Analyst to become the definitive expert on our payment ecosystem’s data. You will bridge the gap between complex, raw financial data and executive-level strategy, reporting directly to the Finance Manager while supporting the VP of Payments. Your mission is to transform "unclean" data into the dashboards and forecasts that will dictate where Ottimate allocates its resources for maximum growth.Unlike standard BI roles where data is served on a silver platter, you will thrive here if you enjoy the "investigative" side of analysis.Data Discovery: You will take ownership of data that isn't yet "analysis-ready," mapping out processes to understand the how and why behind the numbers before building a single chart.Payments Complexity: You will untangle the nuances of VCC interchange, ACH, and check processing costs to find hidden margins.Executive Influence: You won't just send reports; you will prepare the "Story of the Business" for the C-suite and sub-department leaders to drive high-stakes decision-making.ResponsibilitiesBehavioral Modeling: Build and maintain PowerBI dashboards that track customer and vendor behaviors, identifying trends that signify churn risk or growth opportunities.Revenue Forecasting: Develop data-driven forecasts for interchange revenue and operational savings to support quarterly business reviews.Optimization Strategy: Act as an internal consultant to identify high-value areas for resource allocation, such as shifting high-volume check spend to e-payments.Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous self-audits and reconciliation to ensure that every figure presented to leadership is 100% accurate and defensible.RequirementsTechnical Stack: Expert-level SQL (complex joins, CTEs), PowerBI, and Excel (advanced modeling) are mandatory. Python is a strong plus.Experience: 4+ years in a Business Intelligence or Financial Analyst role.Executive Communication: Experience presenting complex data insights directly to C-level executives or Department Leads is a must.Domain Knowledge: Previous experience in the US payments industry (Interchange, ACH, VCC) is a significant advantage. The "Audit" Mindset: A borderline-obsessive attention to detail. You are someone who catches discrepancies (like mismatched figures between a report and a summary) before they reach a stakeholder
