Popmenu Design OperationsThis is a production focused web design role. Popmenu Designers work directly inside our proprietary web builder to deliver ready-to-launch client websites. The role blends visual design with light front-end styling using CSS to ensure responsiveness, accessibility, and polish.This is not a software engineering role: no JavaScript frameworks, application development, or from-scratch builds. Success in this role comes from strong design judgment, comfort working with short deadlines, and the ability to work independently and efficiently within our expectations and platform constraints.This role is best for designers who enjoy building directly in a web platform, working quickly within templates, and using CSS to solve layout and styling issues. It is not a fit for candidates seeking a purely creative mockup role or full front-end engineering work.ResponsibilitiesBuild and configure client websites directly within Popmenu's proprietary web builder, designing in production rather than creating mockupsApply HTML and CSS to refine layouts, resolve styling edge cases, and meet ADA requirements, with an understanding that CSS is used only where the builder cannot accommodate the need.Execute efficient, template-based site builds while maintaining visual quality, brand alignment, and cross-section consistencyContribute to redesign projects, updating layouts, styles, and clearly scoped components as assigned.Support the broader design team by assisting with design support requests, fixes, and enhancements across active sites.Perform internal reviews using design checklists before sites are published, identifying layout, styling, accessibility, and content issuesUse limited or incomplete brand assets to deliver polished designs by selecting fonts, extending color palettes, and sourcing or modifying imagery when neededEdit and format content to improve clarity, hierarchy, and readabilityApply SEO best practices for page structure, metadata, and image descriptions- including the use of AI tools for drafting SEO copy, alt text, and content summariesWrite clear, structured design notes for both internal teams and clients, communicating changes, decisions, and context accuratelyTrack and manage assigned work through Salesforce, including updating milestone stages and logging notes.Attend internal team meetings and partner with Onboarding and Success teams on client calls for complex requests or escalations as neededIncorporate internal and client feedback accurately and efficiently.RequirementsKnowledge & SkillsIntermediate proficiency in HTML and CSS (1+ year), with a focus on layout, responsiveness, and accessibility — not application development; comfort working within a builder-first environment where CSS augments rather than drives the designStrong foundation in branding and web design principles, including hierarchy, spacing, typography, mobile-first design, and visual consistency across sectionsWorking knowledge of responsive layouts (Flexbox/Grid) and browser DevTools for troubleshootingBasic understanding of SEO best practices for site structure, metadata, and image alt textComfort working in a template-based environment, adapting designs within defined systems and constraintsModerate experience with graphic editing tools (Photoshop, GIMP, Affinity, or similar) to resize, retouch, and adjust assetsAbility to make thoughtful design decisions when brand assets are incomplete or minimalComfortable using AI productivity tools to support copywriting, image work, and task efficiencyFamiliarity with CRM or project management platforms (Salesforce experience a plus)Strong attention to detail, time management, and written communication skills; including the ability to write structured notes that convey design decisions clearlyFluent in written and spoken EnglishWhat Success Looks LikeDelivers production ready websites with minimal revisions required.Balances new builds, redesign work, and support tasks without sacrificing qualityMaintains visual brand consistency across a design, i.e. backgrounds, typography, textures, and spacing feel cohesive throughoutCatches issues early through internal review checklists, reducing rework and repeat correctionsChecks all available context before finalizing workResponds to feedback quickly and applies it accuratelyMaintains strong throughput, dependable turnaround times, and consistent design standardsKeeps Salesforce milestones up to date as work progressesActs as a reliable production partner for the Design Ops, Onboarding, and Success workflows
