About the roleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced AVP of Servicing Controls to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support the Servicing organization in monitoring controls, responding to examination requests, and improving the customer experience. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to make strategic decisions.Responsibilities include building 1st Line of Defense monitoring processes, working with key stakeholders on corrective actions, and overseeing projects to improve compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesRegularly perform risk assessments, identify potential risks, analyze current processes, document controls, data, and reports; evaluate control effectiveness and suggest improvements.Collaborate with leadership to ensure risk assessments, process mapping, and resources are prioritized, consolidated when necessary, managed, and reported according to company policy.Continuously enhance expertise in assigned functional areas through direct interaction with employees, reports, and outputs.Actively identify operational risks and control gaps to reduce customer and regulatory impacts.Advocate for ideas and suggestions to streamline and enhance the control environment.Create and maintain process flows, procedures, and business control tools and templates.Consistently meet task plans, anticipating and resolving issues and obstacles.Assist in estimating project effort and duration across various departments.Prepare and present reports to senior leadership.Keep leadership informed about project status, issues, or concerns proactively.Offer insights and consultative support to issue owners on remediation strategies, timelines, and compensating controls.Anticipate internal and external business challenges and regulatory issues; recommend process, product, or service improvements.Coordinate with management to respond to exam and audit requests.Perform additional duties as assigned.Skills, Knowledge, and ExpertiseBachelor’s degree in business administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.3+ years’ experience in Business Controls, Operational Risk, Change Leadership.Extensive hands-on experience with internal preventative and detective controls, conducting risk assessments, and managing compliance processes; proficient in applying risk-based techniques to implement regulatory, compliance, and legal requirements.Proven experience interpreting regulatory content and conducting impact and control suitability analyses to identify potential operational or vendor-related gaps.Experience managing responses to state-level exams and internal/external audits.Strong knowledge of federal regulations and regulatory compliance.Excellent written, verbal communication and listening skills.Ability to interact and work cooperatively with executives, managers, co-workers, and other involved parties in a professional, courteous manner.Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and inspire cross-functional projects.Ability to effectively prioritize under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; effective time management.Demonstrates initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Ability to think analytically and make data-driven decisions.Skilled with PC and Microsoft Operating Systems software.LocationThis position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere that suits you best! While you’ll primarily work from home, you are always welcome to visit our office in Irving, TX. All team members must reside in one of our approved locations by their start date, ensuring you remain part of our collaborative community.CompensationSalary range is $110,000 to $125,000 depending on relevant experience.
