Our platform supports clients across strategy, product development, trust and fund services, legal and operational support, as well as marketing, research, and distribution.About the roleTidal is seeking a motivated and resourceful Finance AVP to join our Finance team. This role will play an important part in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the firm, while also contributing to broader planning and budgeting efforts.We’re seeking someone with a strong accounting foundation and leadership experience who enjoys improving processes and building efficient systems. Comfort with Excel and data analysis is important, along with a commitment to incorporating AI tools into daily workflows.What you'll doManage and streamline financial operations: Own end-to-end AR and AP processes, including cash flow and liquidity management, driving accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across the Finance function.Lead and operationalize the monthly and quarterly close: Oversee and standardize the accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations and financial reports while continuously streamlining and scaling close procedures.Perform and review financial reporting: Prepare and review firm financial statements, ensuring quality and accuracy while surfacing actionable insights to senior leadership.Oversee corporate spending: Monitor company card usage and T&E reimbursements through Ramp, driving accountability and cost control.Lead fund expense management: Prepare, review, and approve bills from third-party service providers, reconcile payments, and allocate expenses across funds in line with governing documents and regulatory standards.Drive continuous improvement: Continuously find ways to improve processes and embed AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude into day-to-day operations. This is not about occasional projects - we expect process improvement and AI to be a natural part of how this person operates daily.QualificationsB.A/B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field5–7+ years of progressive Finance or Accounting experience, ideally gained within financial services or a top-tier public accounting firm.Strong Excel and data manipulation skills (vlookup, sumifs, index/match, etc.).Experience managing or mentoring finance team members, with the ability to lead by example and develop junior staff.Day-to-day proficiency with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) is required. Candidates should be comfortable using these tools routinely across writing, data analysis, research, and problem-solving, not just for one-off tasks.Highly motivated and adaptable, with the ability to perform under pressure and manage competing priorities.Preferred QualificationsCertified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.Hands-on ERP expertise, with a strong preference for NetSuite experience.Proficiency in expense management platforms (e.g., Ramp) and related financial systems.Knowledge of ETFs and the asset management industry.
