As they embark on their company's exciting 0 to 1 stage, we're seeking a visionary Software Engineering Manager. This role isn't just about managing a team; it's about laying the foundation, setting the standards, and driving the company's technological direction.
What do we expect from this role?
Technical leadership
● Lead and mentor a team of talented engineers, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback.
● Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and technical excellence within the engineering team.
● Collaborate with HR to recruit, onboard, reward top performers and retain top engineering talent
Product development and delivery
● Work closely with product managers and cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and execute the product roadmap.
● Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of engineering projects, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
● Ensures the necessary resources are made available and allocated as per project plan, to ensure project delivery timelines are met effectively.
● Ensure high-quality code, address legacy issues, and prioritize product features according to business requirements and company vision
Technical strategy and architecture
● Drive technical decision-making, own and provide guidance on the technical architecture, design, and technology stack.
● Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to ensure our technology remains cutting-edge.
● Ensure that all software initiatives directly support our business objectives and long-term vision. Process Improvement and Optimization
● Implement and improve engineering processes, workflows, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
● Foster a culture of agility, adaptability, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
● Identify and invest in technology, process enhancements, and continuous delivery methods that boost team productivity
● Ensures the company complies with applicable laws and regulations regarding data security and document management
● Implements and optimizes policies & procedures regarding document storage, sharing & transmission.
Stakeholder communication
● Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments, ensuring clear communication and alignment on goals and priorities.
● Work effectively with a diverse team of product managers, designers, developers
● Provide regular updates to leadership on project status, risks, and opportunities.
● Ensure seamless communication, triage technical issues, and drive them to resolution.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
● Demonstrated experience driving product development and delivery in a fast-paced, agile environment.
● Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
● A strategic thinker who can drive decision-making based on data, user feedback, and the company's broader vision.
● Proven track record of taking products to the market.
