Built on the latest technology, the roadmap is designed to enable innovation and growth for years to come.Role Summary: Product Manager, PaymentsWe’re looking for an experienced Product Manager, Payments to help shape the roadmap, drive launches, and lead adoption efforts for Pay Your Way (“PYW”) inside SYW. The PYW payments platform, including core payments APIs, serves businesses ranging from small startups to large consumer platforms.You’ll partner with the Product team to understand and help prioritize the needs of our most technical users, and shape the launch of our core APIs and implementations.You AreA storyteller: deep empathy for users and the ability to adapt communication to best reach and engage your audience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Data-oriented: enjoy working with data and insights, paired with passion for users to generate balanced, thoughtful points of view for how to take products to market.Organized: able to manage highly interdependent, complex projects and keep multiple workstreams on track.Passionate about product and tech: keen to learn how things work; able to explain technical concepts so everyday people understand; follows tech trends and is excited about building incredible product experiences.Ambitious and adaptable: eager to make an impact in a fast-moving, dynamic, hyper-growth environment; able to operate between strategy and micro-detail to get things right.A team player: able to collaborate across Marketing and with basically every team at Stripe; works effectively across disciplines.ResponsibilitiesDefine the roadmap for your platforms (with a global standpoint).Provide a clear vision to the Scrum teams and execute on the roadmap with clear milestones for business and engineering.Communicate strategies and trade-offs to the VP and CEO.Work cross-functionally to align in real time with engineering, architecture, stakeholders, and other teams throughout the software development lifecycle.RequirementsBS Computer Science or equivalent; MS Computer Science/MBA preferred.8+ years of product management experience in the FinTech payments sector (2–3 years as a software engineer highly valued).Strong background in mobile payments (QR payments) is a must.Experience with Acquiring services (merchant side) preferred; Issuing (user side), including mobile apps, also valued.Experience with Core Banking services (e.g., mobile wallets).Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment; deals well with ambiguity and focuses on driving impact.Demonstrated ownership defining and executing world-class consumer/B2B products in a high-velocity environment.Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in both high-level business discussions and low-level technical discussions.Experience managing end-to-end app release cycles (product discovery, design, development, UAT, QA, post-release monitoring, analytics, and reporting).Strong user experience sensibilities and appreciation for minimal interface design.Deep understanding of analytics, business intelligence, and data warehousing tools, user research, and business cases to drive decisions and improve products.Experience launching A/B tests and learning/iterating from results (winning or not).5+ years of relevant work experience spanning software development, marketing, product marketing, product management, sales engineering, operational roles, or strategy consulting (as applicable).At least 2–3 years of product marketing or other go-to-market strategy work experience, preferably in a technology company.Experience working with technical products is preferred; direct experience with software development may be helpful but is not required.Nice to haveExperience in architecture, design, implementations of a payment processing system, or writing REST APIs.Worked directly with Software Engineering teams on backend and full-stack.Familiarity with regulatory licensing and general rules around payments.Ability to define and manage product roadmap, document product strategy, coordinate stakeholder conversations, maintain feature backlog, and coordinate releases.Use data, insights, systems thinking, and stakeholder input to create innovative solutions that automate and optimize financial infrastructure and the product suite.Create detailed specifications and partner with engineering to deliver products with predictable timelines.Communicate constantly and effectively to align stakeholders around product strategy, roadmap, and delivery.Integrate qualitative and quantitative user feedback into product requirements to satisfy and delight users on all sides of the marketplace.Continually gather and analyze data to create a data-driven culture biased toward actionable insight, and build data-driven justification to drive investment; define success metrics, track, and iterate based on milestones.Develop scalable, flexible solutions by predicting the future and future-proofing finance infrastructure.
