We're looking for an organized, proactive Coordinator to help make those experiences happen.Position OverviewThe School Events Coordinator serves as an administrative support partner to Sora's Middle and High School Leadership teams, helping to plan, organize, and coordinate school events from the ground up. This is a collaborative and supportive role — you won't just be executing tasks in isolation; you'll work closely with school leaders to ensure every event is thoughtfully prepared and seamlessly executed.From building presentation decks to managing calendar invites and logistics, you'll provide the behind-the-scenes operational support that allows leadership to focus on delivering meaningful experiences for students. This is an ideal role for someone who loves organization, thrives on anticipating what's needed, and wants hands-on experience in school operations, event coordination, and remote team collaboration.Compensation & CommitmentThis is a part-time contract, fully remote position. Hours and compensation are as follows:Hours: Approximately 5-10 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate your scheduleContract Dates: Immediate start date with an end date of 6/19/2027Wage: Hourly rate is $15-$17 per hour, depending on experience.Schedule expectations may vary slightly around peak event periods, and will always be communicated in advance.LocationThis is a fully remote role.Key ResponsibilitesEvent Planning & CoordinationMaintain a comprehensive, forward-looking events calendar for both the Middle and High School in coordination with leadershipProactively identify upcoming events and flag them to the relevant leadership teams well in advanceHelp ensure all events are on the radar of faculty and students with appropriate lead time for preparationTrack deadlines, deliverables, and action items for each event from planning through execution, keeping leadership informed throughoutMaterials & CommunicationsCreate polished slide decks for event briefings, planning sessions, and leadership review meetingsDraft and send calendar invites to relevant stakeholders for all scheduled eventsOrganize and maintain a centralized repository of event materials for easy team accessPrepare agendas and recap notes for events-related meetingsStudent & Faculty SupportSupport students and faculty in creating and managing Schoolspace events for major milestones such as prom and homecomingServe as a helpful point of contact for event logistics questions from students and staff, escalating to leadership as neededHelp coordinate volunteer or participant sign-ups and RSVPs as neededLeadership MeetingsAttend regular check-ins with Middle and High School leadership teams to align on upcoming events and prioritiesPresent event timelines and slide decks for leadership review and feedbackFollow up on action items and decisions from leadership meetings promptlyQualificationsRequiredExceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detailClear written communication skills — comfortable writing for both student and faculty audiencesProficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Calendar, Sheets)Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment while staying closely connected to a teamAbility to plan, anticipate needs, and take initiative without being promptedReliable, responsive, and consistent in meeting deadlinesPreferredPrior experience in event planning, student government, or a school or office administrative roleFamiliarity with virtual school platforms or learning management systemsExperience creating presentations for professional or academic audiencesGenuine interest in education, school culture, or community buildingEqual Opportunity StatementSora Schools is an equal opportunity employer that is deeply committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
