Position Highlights:The Development Director is responsible for fostering relationships and executing strategies in all aspects of the donor cycle that can result in philanthropic support to the National Safety Council. Represents the institution to high level individuals and organizations, including members of the Board of Directors/Trustees/Delegates, volunteers, donors, and prospects, as well as serves as a partner working collaboratively with and across all departments. The Director of Development ensures alignment across these efforts, strengthens collaboration and best practices, and supports the successful execution of strategies that drive sustainable, diversified funding. Serving as a connector between strategy and execution, the Director of Development helps translate organizational priorities into actionable fundraising opportunities, fosters consistency in donor experience and stewardship, and upholds NSC’s values and accountability, integrity, and measurable impact across all development activities.What You’ll Do:Strategic Fundraising LeadershipLead the development and execution of a multi channel fundraising strategy aligned with NSC’s mission, strategic priorities, and revenue goals.Support the annual development of Business Plans, benchmarks, and performance metrics; regularly assess progress and adapt strategies as needed.Ensure fundraising practices reflect NSC’s values of integrity, evidence based decision making, and donor stewardship.Revenue DevelopmentServes as key partner to the Chief Development Officer to create/execute a strategic plan for aggressive fundraising growth in the next 3-5 years.Assist with identifying key fundraising success metrics and set goals according to these metrics.Manages an active fundraising portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation donors.Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio which sustains a robust and effective annual fundraising program to expand the donor database and pipeline.Partner with senior leadership and board members to support high-level donor relationships and solicitations.Bring a donor centered, major gift sensibility and best practices approach to all fundraising activities in the pursuit of advancing the Council’s various programs and initiatives.Stewardship/CultivationChampion a donor centered approach to stewardship, including timely acknowledgements, meaningful impact reporting, and engagement opportunities.Cultivate and steward donors by connecting them to the mission through various engagement opportunities, including meetings, events, and other hands on engagement experiences.Partner with colleagues in the moves management process, ensuring donors experience high quality interactions with the organization that foster long term engagement and investment.OperationsSupport the Chief Development Officer with updating, creating, and enforcing policies and procedures which guide the fundraising operation.Manages all moves managements/data input for their own portfolio with the donor software system Little Green Light.Other Job DutiesAdheres to safety responsibilities as outlined in the Safety ManualEvidence of initiating, problem solving, and managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.Understands and demonstrates alignment with the organization’s mission, priorities, and objectives.Navigates staff and stakeholder relationships to meet organizational goals.SalarySalary range: $125,000 to $135,000We’re Looking for Someone with:Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
