We are seeking an experienced Database Migration Engineer to support a large-scale Oracle to PostgreSQL migration project. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with database migration, Change Data Capture (CDC), data replication, and cloud-native deployment technologies. You will work closely with application, database, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless migration with minimal downtime while maintaining data integrity and performance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and execute Oracle to PostgreSQL database migration projects.Design, implement, and optimize Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions using Debezium.Build and maintain real-time data streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka (preferred) or AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).Develop and enhance migration utilities and integration components using Java.Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.Deploy and manage applications using Helm on Kubernetes environments.Validate migrated data for completeness, consistency, and performance.Troubleshoot migration issues and optimize migration strategies.Collaborate with DBAs, developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders throughout the migration lifecycle.Create technical documentation, migration runbooks, and best practices.Required SkillsStrong experience in Oracle to PostgreSQL database migration.Hands-on experience with Debezium for Change Data Capture (CDC).Experience with Apache Kafka (preferred) or AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).Strong programming experience in Java.Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).Experience deploying applications using Helm.Good understanding of relational databases, SQL, indexing, query optimization, and database performance tuning.Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Preferred SkillsExperience with Oracle GoldenGate.Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
