We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Architect to lead the design, architecture, and modernization of enterprise-scale data platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture, modern lakehouse platforms, Apache Iceberg, Databricks/Spark ecosystems, and real-time data processing frameworks. This role will be responsible for defining data strategy, designing scalable architectures, establishing governance standards, and guiding engineering teams in building high-performance analytics solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and architect enterprise-scale data lakehouse and analytics platforms on AWS.Define data architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices across cloud environments.Lead the design of scalable batch and real-time data processing solutions using Spark, Kafka, and cloud-native services.Architect modern data lake solutions leveraging Apache Iceberg, object storage, and distributed query engines.Drive cloud modernization and migration initiatives from legacy platforms to AWS-native architectures.Define data modeling, partitioning, storage, and performance optimization strategies for large-scale datasets.Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering leadership to align architecture with business goals.Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews, and mentorship to data engineering teams.Required Skills12+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Cloud Data Platforms.Strong expertise in AWS architecture including EMR, Glue, S3, Lambda, Athena, IAM, and CloudWatch.Deep hands-on experience with Apache Iceberg and modern Lakehouse architectures.Strong experience with PySpark, Spark SQL, and distributed data processing.Experience architecting large-scale batch and streaming data platforms using Kafka, Kinesis, or similar technologies.Expertise in designing scalable, high-performance data platforms processing millions to billions of records.Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, lineage, and observability frameworks.Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow, DBT, or similar modern data ecosystem tools.Strong knowledge of performance tuning, data modeling, and cloud cost optimization strategies.Mandatory Skills: Apache Iceberg, AWS, EMR, Glue, Databricks, Snowflake, Terraform, Data Model and Data Governance.
