About the RoleCherry's providers are the business. They choose to offer Cherry, they use it every day, and their success directly determines ours. This role exists to make sure Cherry earns that relationship through great design, and to ensure the tools and experiences we give providers and their patients are best-in-class.We're looking for a Staff Product Designer to contribute to one of two pillars:Core Experience is about the quality of the day-to-day product experience for providers: the apps, flows, and tools they use to run their practice with Cherry. This work is about raising the UX bar across the board, eliminating the friction and inconsistencies that erode trust, and ensuring Cherry is the product providers want to recommend to other practices. It also includes net new, zero-to-one products that expand the suite of value Cherry offers providers.Checkout Experience is about how Cherry shows up at the point of care, for both providers and patients. On the provider side, it means giving practices the right tools to offer Cherry financing in whatever form their business needs. On the patient side, it means ensuring people can understand their options, choose the right payment plan, and complete a transaction with confidence. The work is tied directly to volume, conversion, and the outcomes that let both practices and patients thrive. As a Staff Product Designer, you'll own a pod within one of these pillars. This is 100% IC work, and the value of this scope is depth: the ability to move fast with a focused team, develop real expertise in your domain, and produce work that has direct, measurable impact on Cherry's business. This role is also a natural step on a growth path. Cherry values a hybrid model of making and managing, where design leaders stay close to the craft even as they take on people leadership. For the right person, there's a clear opportunity to grow toward that kind of role from here. What You'll DoDesign OwnershipOwn design for a pod or subdomain within Core Experience or Checkout ExperienceDrive team-level design strategy: identify the highest-leverage opportunities and shape solution direction within your domainExecute at a high craft level across the full range of flows and surfaces your team ownsDefine reusable patterns and standards that raise quality within your domainCraft & ExecutionContribute directly and consistently to design work, from early exploration through final deliveryDrive measurable improvements in experience quality, conversion, and user outcomesBalance rapid iteration and short-term wins with the systems thinking that compounds over timeUse research, prototyping, and performance data to validate direction and inform decisionsCross-Team PartnershipPartner closely with Product and Engineering to prioritize, plan, and shipCollaborate across the consumer and provider sides of the product to ensure your domain fits naturally into the broader journeyAdvocate for users, both providers and patients, in decisions about flow structure, information hierarchy, and experience qualityContribute to design quality and craft across the broader Cherry design teamWhat You Bring6+ years of product design experience with demonstrated ownership of a product area or domainStrong interaction design craft across complex, multi-step flowsSystems thinking across end-to-end journeys, not just individual screensSharp product judgment and comfort shaping problems before solutions are definedExperience with conversion-critical or high-stakes transactional products a plusAbility to work independently and drive decisions without waiting for directionStrong cross-functional collaboration skills with Product, Engineering, and go-to-market teamsHigh visual design quality and attention to the details that build trustYou're Probably a Great Fit If...You thrive on ownership: you're energized by having a domain that's yours and holding a high bar within itYou care as much about the provider using Cherry fifty times a day as the patient going through checkout for the first timeYou want to grow toward people leadership eventually, but right now you're most excited by the work itselfYou think about trust as a design material, not just something that happens when the UI looks polishedYou're comfortable in a fast-moving environment where the tools and processes you used last year may not be the ones you use this yearAbout CherryCherry is a patient financing platform that connects consumers with healthcare providers, making care more accessible and practice growth more achievable. Our product spans consumer-facing payment experiences, provider-facing business tools, and the infrastructure that ties them together. Design at Cherry is not a service function: it's a strategic lever, and this role sits at the heart of how Cherry delivers value to providers and patients every day.
