About Us Doma Technology LLC offers solutions for lenders, real estate professionals, title agents, and homeowners that make closings vastly simpler and more efficient, reducing cost and increasing customer satisfaction. Our ValuesObsessively Entrepreneurial - We encourage calculated risk-taking, and we know that some of our best learning happens by making mistakes along the way.People First - We communicate with honesty and respect to our customers, colleagues, and partners.Better Together - We believe diversity, equity and inclusion creates value through the differences in our backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.Act with Integrity - We hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards in all of our business practices.Doma is looking for a hands-on Director of Platform Engineering to own the infrastructure and DevOps foundation our product, software, and data teams build on. At Doma, we build differently. The platform supporting our environment was designed and stood up through human-directed AI. This role owns and extends that estate, so fluency in directing AI tools to produce production-grade, secure infrastructure is essential. You will report to our VP Engineering and will be expected to both set direction and stay close enough to the systems yourself to review architecture, work through incidents, and do part of the build alongside your team. This is a backfill at the Director level, with a scope intentionally focused on infrastructure and DevOps.You're fired up to:Own our cloud infrastructure (Azure) and Kubernetes environment, keeping it reliable, secure, and cost efficientLead the team in using AI-assisted engineering to design, build, and operate platform infrastructure — setting the standards, guardrails, and review practices that make AI-generated code and infrastructure reliable, secure, and maintainable at scaleDrive infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and GitOps practices that let engineering teams ship safely and quicklyOwn secrets management and the DevOps tooling that underpins our deployment pipelineMaintain and evolve our database and data warehouse infrastructureBuild observability and reliability practices, and improve developer experience across engineeringManage and mentor a team of engineers and engineering managers, while staying hands-on enough to contribute directly to the workPartner with Security and Corporate IT on any handoffs between platform and securityYou definitely have:7+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering, including hands-on experience on Azure, Kubernetes, Postgres and data warehousing3+ years managing engineers or engineering managersDeep experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure as codeDemonstrated proficiency directing AI coding and infrastructure tools to deliver production systems. You can architect the outcome, prompt and steer the AI effectively, and critically review what it produces — you treat AI as a force multiplier while remaining fully accountable for the quality, security, and correctness of the result.Experience owning secrets management and related toolingComfort operating databases and data warehouse infrastructure at scaleA track record of staying hands-on: writing code, reviewing architecture, and working incidents alongside your team, not just directing from aboveStrong communication skills, comfortable explaining technical tradeoffs and risk to non-technical stakeholdersYou might even have:Experience standing up or scaling a platform engineering function inside a lean, growing companyFamiliarity with Snowflake or other modern data warehouse platformsExperience with observability tooling such as Datadog or GrafanaBackground in a regulated or compliance-heavy industry, with SOC 2 exposureExperience partnering with a separate Security or IT function rather than owning it directlyShown below is the lowest to highest base salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits to eligible employees (FTE, non-contract): medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), generous vacation time, and paid bonding leave. We currently offer the following benefits to all Full-Time employees:Work/Life Balance - We encourage taking Paid Time Off (PTO)!12 Weeks of Paid Family Bonding Leave (Maternity and Paternity)Incredible medical, dental, and vision benefits options to allow you to customize to you and your family’s needs that all start in the following month following your first day of employmentHealth Savings Account (HSA)401K with company match programShort-Term & Long-Term DisabilitySupplemental Life and AD&D InsuranceCritical Illness, Injury and Hospital Insurance
