Responsibilities

Job title: Full Stack Engineer Type: Paid contract, part-time, hours agreed with the candidate Location: Remote, Americas (we need working-hour overlap with US Eastern time) Language: English at a conversational level is sufficient Compensation: Paid contract. Rate is negotiable and set based on experience - tell us what you are looking for. About the company: Melora Connect is association management software built for small associations and chambers of commerce - organizations under 500 members who have been priced out of or buried by the enterprise platforms. The product is built. We are a small team putting it in front of its first customers, which means everyone here works on things that matter immediately. Why this role exists: Melora Connect is live software with a small codebase and a very small team. We need an engineer who can take a feature from a rough description to production on their own - UI, API, database, and tests - and who can be trusted with a system that holds member data for other organizations. Those organizations have real obligations to their members, so we care as much about how you change things as how fast. The stack: React and TypeScript, TanStack Start, Tailwind, Supabase (Postgres with row-level security), deployed continuously. What you will do: - Own features end to end, UI through database, on the parts of the product customers use weekly: member management, events, dues, payments, and reporting. - Design schemas and write migrations safely: additive-only, in transactions, reversible, with row-level security policies that actually hold. - Review code as well as write it. Every change is reviewed before it merges, and you will be on both sides of that. - Write tests and raise coverage in the areas you touch. - Diagnose and fix production issues from real customer usage. - Help shape technical decisions as the product and team grow. Who we are looking for: You have shipped and maintained production web applications, not just built them. You are strong in React and TypeScript and comfortable designing a Postgres schema and writing non-trivial SQL. You understand authentication, authorization, and why tenant data isolation matters. You work independently, communicate clearly in writing, and flag problems early. Supabase or row-level security experience is a real plus. Applicants across the Americas welcome. What you get: a paid contract, real ownership of a production codebase, direct work with the person who wrote the system, flexible part-time hours, and a path to a larger role as the company grows. Skills required: React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, SQL, REST APIs, Git, conversational English. Nice to have: Supabase, TanStack, Tailwind CSS, automated testing, Stripe or payments integrations.
