Requirements and responsibilities

Primary Job FunctionsDevelop Enterprise Data Strategies helping to modernize existing systemsCollaborate with Business areas and cross functional Enterprise Architects to fully understand business needs and provide strategic consultation and translate requirements into solution architecture and design roadmap.Actively participate in Data Governance CouncilPartner with developers, architects, other technical team members and database administrators to design and develop high performing data solutions and maintain consistent development functions.Architect Enterprise Cloud Data Access PatternsConsult with ESD teams as needed to provide architecture considerations on legacy solutions.Contribute to the development of a mature data stewardship processWork Experience, Education, Certification/Training RequiredBachelors degree or equivalent certifications / experience required6 + years Data Warehouse, Data Analytics, Database Modeling experience required5 + years of Business Intelligence application delivery required Experience in Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SQL Server) a plusExperience with Microsoft Azure Platform - Emphasis on Power Platform, Azure Data Services (SQL Server, Data Lake, DataVerse, etc)Azure Architecture Certification PreferredExperience working in an Agile environment preferredExperience in relational and dimensional data modeling requiredExperience in the Insurance industry and/or LOMA coursework preferred; FLMI certification a plusExperience working in a multi-tier data delivery environment requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredAbility to lead, influence and modify behaviors on a team comprised of IT and Business partners in support of data strategyAbility to work independently or as a part of team.Knowledge of Enterprise Data, Data Warehousing, Azure Cloud Data platformsKnowledge of structured data, such as entities, classes, hierarchies, relationships and metadataKnowledge of database management system (DBMS) including tables, joins and SQL queryingAbility to combine data from multiple sources when needed for analysisFamiliarity with and ability to document the use cases, business purposes and quality of the dataUnderstanding of data quality concepts, best practices and tools, with strong experience with data analysis techniquesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly understand how various elements relate to one another, having an end-to-end perspective of decisions and anticipating issues/roadblocks.
