The Employee Communications Data & Reporting Analyst measures and improves employee engagement across Indeed’s channels. In close partnership with the Platforms team, you will steward measurement and reporting for Poppulo (email), LumApps (intranet), Slack, video, and other communication platforms. You will design tracking in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), build dashboards in Looker Studio or Tableau, and translate complex data into clear, executive-ready insights that drive reach, relevance, and impact.
GA4:
- Google’s current analytics platform, built around an event-based data model (no Universal Analytics views/properties).
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain the measurement framework for Employee Comms (KPIs, north-star metrics, leading indicators).
- Implement and QA GA4 tracking for internal sites, newsletters, and campaign landing pages (e.g., tagging and event schemas).
- Build automated dashboards and self-serve reports in Looker Studio or Tableau for stakeholders at multiple levels (channel owners, campaign managers, executives).
- Analyze traffic, engagement, and content performance.
- Segment by audience, geography, org, device, and channel to identify drivers of awareness and action.
- Run experiments/A-B tests on content, timing, and channel mix.
- Quantify impact and recommend optimizations.
- Develop attribution approaches for internal campaigns (e.g., exposure-to-action paths, assisted engagement).
- Ensure data quality, governance, and documentation (event taxonomies, UTM/metadata standards, definitions).
- Collaborate on campaign implementation through targeted list pulls and data segmentation to improve message relevance and lift engagement rates.
- Support ad-hoc deep dives for leadership questions and quarterly/annual business reviews.
Must-Have Skills:
- SQL (very likely required).
- Google Analytics 4.
- Data modeling/data preparation.
- Demonstrates strong data storytelling capabilities, focusing not just on building dashboards but on interpreting trends, identifying insights, and communicating the “why” behind the data.
- Possesses excellent communication skills, able to translate analytical findings into clear narratives that support decision-making.
- 3–5+ years in digital/marketing/product analytics or similar.
- Experience supporting Internal Communications or HR/comms platforms preferred.
- Proficiency with Google Analytics 4 (events, parameters, explorations, custom dimensions/metrics, conversions).
- Advanced skills in Looker Studio and/or Tableau (data modeling, calculated fields, filters/controls, visuals).
- Strong SQL for querying and joining datasets.
- Comfort working across multiple data sources.
- Experience with UTM/metadata standards, tagging plans, and QA of analytics implementations.
- Knowledge of survey analytics (e.g., pulse, eNPS) and blending behavioral + attitudinal data.
- Ability to translate data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Exposure to employee communications platforms (e.g., intranet/CMS, email services, messaging) and their analytics is preferred.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with surfacing the data visually in Tableau.
- Python is optional for analysis.
