This role will design, build, and maintain data pipelines using a modern data stack — combining data from cloud and on-premises systems, transforming it with dbt, and orchestrating workflows end to end. The position is responsible for ETL/ELT from many disparate systems into the data warehouse and offers the opportunity to own projects from beginning to end.The team is finalizing its target data architecture between two directions — a balanced on-prem/cloud modernization and a best-in-class cloud-native platform — so the right candidate will bring strong fundamentals that apply to both, along with depth in at least one. Architectural guidance will be available, but this engineer must be able to implement data models effectively and independently. The right candidate will be motivated to learn, contribute to the team and organization, and grow along with the business.What you will do:Data Integration & Pipeline DevelopmentCombine data from various sources, cloud and on-premises, based on business requirementsTranslate business requirements into data warehouse pipelines using ETL/ELT methodologiesBuild and maintain transformation workflows in dbt (Core or Cloud)Develop, schedule, and monitor pipelines using a workflow orchestration platform (e.g., Airflow, Prefect)Implement dimensional data models with architectural guidancePerform data cleansing and standardization, and load data into a centralized data warehouseWrite and maintain Python code supporting ingestion and transformation processesAnalytics Engineering & DevOps PracticesApply testing, CI/CD, and documentation practices to data pipelines and modelsImprove reliability, maintainability, and performance of existing data processesProactively identify potential data problems and respond to unexpected issuesBusiness Intelligence & Data AnalysisPrepare and load data for analysis, BI reports, and dashboardsIdentify opportunities for new data sources and import/integrate them based on business needCollaborate with analysts to develop creative solutions to data challengesOngoing ResponsibilitiesMonitor, schedule, and maintain existing integrationsHandle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlinesTake on special projects and assignments as business dictatesMaintain, create, and control all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company policies, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAAWhat you bring:Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field3–5 years of experience in data engineering or a closely related roleAdvanced SQL and dimensional data modeling — able to implement models effectively with architectural guidanceHands-on experience with dbt (Core or Cloud)Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, or similar)Proficiency in Python developmentExperience with data ingestion and ETL/ELT frameworksWorking knowledge of DevOps and analytics engineering practices: testing, CI/CD, and documentationFamiliarity with BI visualization tools, such as TableauPreferred: On-Prem / Balanced Modernization TrackPostgreSQL (or other relational database) administration and developmentDeep Airflow expertise, beyond general orchestration experiencePreferred: Cloud-Native TrackSnowflake experienceCloud-native data engineering experience on Azure and/or AWSModern cloud data warehouse operations and administrationCloud storage patterns (ADLS, S3, etc.)Professional SkillsVery high attention to detail and focused concentrationStrong communication skills across all levels of technical expertiseStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentAbility to learn new tasks quickly, work independently, and make timely decisions within the workflowAbility to meet productivity and deadline expectations consistentlyEqual Opportunity Employer:AspenView is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
