About Spero Fund Administration: Spero Fund Administration is the back-office for GPs and fund managers, with hundreds of millions in client assets under administration. We serve private equity, real estate, venture, and credit funds, handling investor onboarding, compliance, capital events, quarterly reporting, audit support, and K-1 coordination under one accountable team. Our workflows are built around modern, AI-driven systems so our fund accountants spend their time on judgment and precision — not manual data entry. About the Role: We're looking for a Senior Fund Accountant to join our Fund Administration team. This is an individual contributor role for someone who takes pride in owning complex deliverables from start to finish. You'll work across a portfolio of client funds, collaborating closely with our team to produce quarterly financial statements, capital account statements, capital call and distribution notices, and annual audit support. What You'll Do: - Prepare quarterly financial statements and LP capital account statements across multiple client funds - Calculate carried interest and apply distribution waterfalls in accordance with each fund's governing documents - Execute capital calls and distributions end to end — calculations, notices, wire confirmations, and reconciliation - Maintain fund books and records: journal entries, accruals, management fee calculations, and partner capital reconciliations - Support annual audits with PBC schedules, workpapers, and auditor coordination through sign-off - Assist with K-1 coordination alongside fund counsel and tax preparers Support investor onboarding and compliance workflows as needed What We're Looking For: - 2–3+ years of fund administration or fund accounting experience (private equity, real estate, venture capital, or credit) - Experience preparing financial statements, carried interest calculations, waterfalls, and distributions - Strong command of partnership accounting and fund structures, including SPVs and co-invest vehicles - Ability to read LPAs and translate fund terms into correct allocations and waterfall mechanics - Self-starter who carries complex tasks from start to finish with minimal oversight - Comfort managing multiple funds, clients, and deadlines simultaneously - Familiarity with AI tools and comfort working them into day-to-day workflows - Strong Excel skills; fund accounting software experience a plus - Availability to work 10:00am–6:00pm Mountain Time
