We also run scoped project work — migrations, upgrades, Always On builds, performance engagements — across on-prem, Azure, and AWS.We're looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA Consultant to join a team with no bench, no red tape, and nobody standing between you and the client.What you'll actually do:Managed ServicesOwn client SQL Server environments for years, not just engagementsRotate through on-call and ticket triageTune monitoring and alerting so what fires is worth waking up forFlag problems before clients see them — proactive, not reactiveKeep clean, handoff-ready ticket and time recordsProjectsScope engagements: assess, estimate, and write scopes clients sign off onPlan and execute migrations, upgrades, and cutoversDiagnose performance issues via execution plans, indexing, query tuning, and configurationDesign and troubleshoot Always On availability groups, FCIs, log shipping, replication — plus the Kerberos/SPN/delegation issues that come with themWork directly with clients, including the hard conversationsWhat you need:7+ years as an operational SQL Server DBA at enterprise scale (production ops, not just dev)Always On availability groups — design and configurationDeep troubleshooting with Extended Events, Query Store, PerfMon, and DMVsT-SQL administrative scripting, maintenance strategy, indexing, and query tuningPowerShell scripting and automationStrong client-facing writing and communication skillsDiscipline with ticketing/time-tracking — clean, accurate, and completeNice to have: Active Directory auth, Windows/storage/networking fundamentals, SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, Azure SQL, Managed Instance, AWS RDS, IaC, data compression, monitoring/observability platforms, API integrations and tooling, ITSM process depth, and prior consulting or managed-services experience.If you're a SQL Server DBA who wants ownership over queue-clearing, and clients who value your judgment — this is the role.Ready to apply?
