Role OverviewOur in-house legal department is seeking a Legal Operations Coordinator for temporary support during a period of increased demand and reduced capacity. The right candidate can come in quickly, get up to speed with minimal hand-holding, and deliver reliable, accurate work under pressure from day one.Key ResponsibilitiesRequest Intake & TriageReview and process 50–150 incoming legal requests per day across multiple channelsAssess each request for urgency, complexity, subject matter, and language requirementsPrioritize and escalate time-sensitive matters without promptingEnsure all requests meet intake requirements before routingRouting & AssignmentAssign requests to the appropriate attorney based on practice area, seniority, and availabilityDirect complex and sensitive matters to senior attorneys; route routine matters accordinglyMatch requests to attorneys with required language skills (English, French, Arabic)Matter Tracking & Stakeholder CommunicationMaintain an accurate, real-time log of all open requests and their current statusServe as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders seeking updatesProactively communicate delays, ownership changes, or additional information needsFollow up with attorneys to ensure no request falls through the cracksAdministrative SupportProvide general administrative support including scheduling and document managementHelp maintain and improve intake workflows and tracking systemsAssist with ad hoc projects and department initiativesRequirementsExperience3–5 years in a legal operations, legal administrative, paralegal, or similar role (law firm or in-house)Demonstrated experience managing high volumes of tasks and matters simultaneouslyFamiliarity with legal terminology and how a legal team operatesSkillsExceptional organizational skills and attention to detailStrong sense of urgency and independent judgment on complexity and priorityClear written and verbal communication with both legal and non-legal stakeholdersProficiency with matter management or legal intake tools (Legal Tracker, TeamConnect, Jira, or similar)Comfortable with spreadsheets and standard office tools (Microsoft Office or Google Workspace)Discretion and professionalism with confidential informationLanguagesFull professional proficiency in English requiredFrench proficiency is a strong plusContract TermsThis is a 3-month fixed-term contract intended to address a specific period of increased demand. Candidates should expect and plan for the contract to conclude at the end of that term. Extension or conversion to a permanent role is possible depending on workload and headcount decisions at that time, but is not assured and should not be the primary basis for applying. Strong performers will be considered for any permanent openings that arise.
