Responsibilities

The Role You’ll work directly with me across client engagements and internal initiatives. This is not a single-project role. You’ll be dropped into unfamiliar environments, expected to get oriented quickly, and trusted to make good decisions. Some weeks you’ll design a data model from scratch. Other weeks you’ll untangle a legacy system and map the path out of it. You won’t sit in a backlog polishing one feature for months. What You’ll Do Build: Design and ship full-stack applications using modern technologies like Python, React, and TypeScript. Clean code, strong types, thoughtful boundaries. Modernize: Incrementally break apart legacy systems and migrate them into something maintainable. Deploy: Own infrastructure end to end — cloud services, containers, CI/CD. Design: Create data models that reflect the business, not just what’s easiest to implement. Who This Is For - You’ve built whole systems and lived with the consequences. - You know when to move fast and when to slow down. - You treat the database as a first-class part of the system. - You’re comfortable opening legacy codebases—Rails, PHP, older enterprise stacks—and figuring out what’s actually happening. - You take ownership: you define the work, build it, test it, and ship it. - You communicate clearly, especially when the answer isn’t what someone wants to hear.
