Requirements and responsibilities
We are looking for a highly skilled AI Engineer with a strong hands-on background in Generative AI to join our team on a contract basis.
This is a delivery-focused, hands-on role. You will design, build, and deploy real-world GenAI solutions in production, primarily using Azure AI services and OpenAI (ChatGPT). We are particularly interested in candidates who have already implemented multiple GenAI systems in real production environments, especially RAG-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and deploy Generative AI solutions using Azure and OpenAI.
* Build and optimize RAG pipelines, including:
* Advanced document chunking strategies.
* Embeddings and vector search.
* Retrieval optimization.
* Integrate Azure Document Intelligence for document ingestion, extraction, and preprocessing.
* Engineer and optimize high-quality prompts and prompt workflows for ChatGPT and other LLMs.
* Optimize AI systems for performance, accuracy, scalability, and cost efficiency.
* Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into AI-driven solutions.
* Evaluate and experiment with new GenAI tools, models, and architectures.
* Ensure best practices for security, data privacy, and responsible AI usage.
Required Skills & Experience
* 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering / AI / ML.
* Strong, demonstrable experience delivering Generative AI projects.
* Hands-on expertise with:
* Azure AI Hub.
* Azure Document Intelligence.
* OpenAI ChatGPT API.
* Advanced knowledge of prompt engineering.
* Deep understanding of RAG architectures, including:
* Chunking strategies.
* Embeddings.
* Vector databases.
* Retrieval optimization.
* Strong programming skills (Python preferred).
* Proven experience deploying AI solutions in production.
* Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts in English (C1 level).
Nice to Have
* Experience with vector databases (e.g. Azure AI Search, Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS).
* Background in NLP, information retrieval, or knowledge management systems.
* Experience working in B2B or enterprise environments.
* Familiarity with MLOps / AIOps practices.
Compensation & Conditions
* Contract type: B2B.
* Salary: $5,500 – $6,500 USD (gross), depending on experience.
* Holidays: 10 public holidays.
* Vacation & sick days: Unpaid.
