This role spans RHEL build and configuration, Satellite integration, identity management, automation development support, and knowledge transfer, and serves as leave-coverage backup for senior engineers throughout the period of performance.The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of IT experience, 5+ years of RHEL operations and engineering experience across enterprise federal environments, with demonstrated versatility across the Red Hat ecosystem. You are equally comfortable owning a workstream independently and filling gaps across other workstreams as program needs shift.What you will do:Build, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.x, 9.x, and 10.x baseline images within virtualized enterprise environments, ensuring alignment with security, compliance, and operational standards.Support Red Hat Satellite integration activities, including content registration, host collection management, content lifecycle administration, patch deployment, and compliance scanning.Develop, test, and maintain Ansible automation solutions, including reusable roles, playbooks, and Molecule-tested content to support consistent and scalable system administration.Implement and support enterprise identity management integrations, including Active Directory, SSSD, LDAP, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions such as YubiKey and Smart Card authentication.Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure systems are configured, secured, and maintained in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.Troubleshoot and resolve Linux infrastructure, automation, and identity management issues across development, test, and production environments.Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and knowledge transfer artifacts as part of project delivery requirements.Participate in system validation, compliance activities, and operational readiness efforts to support successful deployments and ongoing system health.Provide cross-functional support and operational continuity across workstreams, ensuring project momentum and service delivery are maintained during planned and unplanned team absences.Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance automation, standardization, efficiency, and operational resilience across the environment.How success is measured:Successfully delivers secure, stable, and compliant RHEL 8.x/9.x/10.x environments that meet operational and security requirements.Develops and maintains scalable Ansible automation that reduces manual effort and improves consistency across the environment.Ensures successful integration and management of Red Hat Satellite, identity management services, and compliance tooling.Maintains compliance with STIG, SCAP, and CIS Benchmark requirements while proactively identifying and resolving security risks.Produces high-quality technical documentation, SOPs, and training materials that support knowledge transfer and operational readiness.Collaborates effectively across engineering, operations, security, and government stakeholder teams to meet project objectives and delivery timelines.Provides technical leadership, mentors team members, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.What you bring:We require: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience accepted10+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years of RHEL operations and engineering experience across enterprise federal environments, with demonstrated versatility across the Red Hat ecosystemRHCE certification, with RHCA or RHCSA also valued, and Red Hat Specialist credentials in one or more of Ansible Automation, Containers, Virtualization, or Deployment and Systems ManagementExperience with Terraform/Ansible IaC and federal security environmentsNice to have:Active federal clearance (Public Trust, Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI) preferred, or DOE badge eligibility is a strong differentiator.Experience working within a federal security frameworkWork Environment: Remote with occasional travelCompensation and Benefits:Salary range: $152,000 - $156,000Competitive salary based on experiencePerformance bonus eligibility401k with company matchMedical, dental, and vision coverageLife and disability insuranceHealth Savings AccountProfessional development programsEmployee referral bonus programWhy Trilogy InnovationsAt Trilogy Innovations, we believe strong teams build meaningful solutions.
