Requirements and responsibilities

About SewerAI CorporationSewerAI is transforming underground infrastructure management through AI-powered inspection and risk analysis. Our platform helps contractors, engineering firms, and utilities unlock valuable insights from sewer inspection data—turning hours of manual video review into actionable intelligence in minutes. After doubling our customer base over the past year, we’re now entering an exciting phase of accelerated growth.About The RoleWe're hiring a domain-first Professional Services Engineer who brings real sewer-inspection field expertise and wants to grow into technical delivery. As SewerAI scales rapidly, you'll own customer engagements end-to-end — from the first discovery call through validated delivery of a data migration or CMMS integration — becoming the trusted technical face for the customers you own. This is not a traditional software-engineering role. You'll bring deep fluency in CCTV inspection, NASSCO standards, and inspection data quality, and you'll learn to use AI-assisted tooling to script, map, and transform data against the SewerAI API. Reporting into the ProServe team inside Engineering, you'll work directly with cities and utilities to solve the messy, real-world data problems that sit at the core of what we do.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Engagement & DeliveryOwn the full engagement lifecycle — from technical discovery through scoping, ETL execution, and delivery — as the single accountable owner on each customer account.Run discovery and intake calls with city operations and IT teams; produce Scoping Summaries that translate field realities into clear technical requirements.Lead weekly customer check-ins, keeping engagements on track and resolving issues before they escalate.Serve as the primary technical point of contact for your accounts, building trusted relationships with utility and contractor stakeholders.Data Migration & IntegrationExecute legacy data migrations into Pioneer, validating inspection data quality at each stage of the process.Stand up and configure CMMS integrations (Cityworks, Cartegraph) against the SewerAI API.Use AI-assisted tooling and the ProServe CLI/SDK to script, map, and transform customer data — with support from Engineering where needed.Build reusable scripts and patterns over time that make the next engagement faster and more consistent.Data Quality & ValidationApply NASSCO coding standards (PACP/LACP/MACP) to validate inspection data submitted by customers prior to migration.Identify and resolve data quality issues — coding errors, format mismatches, incomplete submittals — in collaboration with the customer and internal teams.Maintain thorough documentation of engagement activity, data decisions, and delivery outcomes.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Technical Account Managers, Product, and Engineering to surface customer feedback, flag data edge cases, and continuously improve the ProServe delivery process.Contribute to the development of ProServe playbooks, intake templates, and QA standards as the team scales.QualificationsNo CS degree or software-engineering background required — this is a domain-first hire.Hands-on field experience in sewer or wastewater inspection (CCTV, SSES, or similar programs).Direct experience with inspection data and submittals — coding, QAQC, exports, or data management — for a contractor, utility, or engineering firm.Fluency with NASSCO standards; PACP/LACP/MACP certification preferred, or the background to certify quickly.Nice to have: prior contractor, utility, or engineering-consulting background; any exposure to scripting, SQL, or data tooling, even at a hobby level.Skills & CompetenciesCustomer-facing confidence — comfortable running a discovery call with a city's operations or IT team and keeping it on track.Strong ownership and follow-through; able to manage ambiguity and changing customer environments without losing momentum.Practical communicator who translates technical topics into plain language for non-technical stakeholders.Genuine curiosity about messy, real-world data problems and willingness to learn AI-assisted scripting, ETL work, and API tooling without an engineering background.Exceptional attention to detail, particularly around data quality validation and NASSCO coding standards.Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $90,000-120,000Equity opportunities availableBenefits include:Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life, 401(k), and moreUnlimited PTOTools and resources to support successCompetitive compensation with high-growth potentialWhy Join SewerAI?Join the fastest-growing team in wastewater tech and help modernize critical infrastructure with AI.
