About the Position:
A leading company is hiring a Data Analyst to join the Compliance Department. Responsibilities:
- Investigate business problems from start to finish, from defining the question to delivering well-founded conclusions.
- Conduct exploratory analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies not reflected in existing reports.
- Evaluate data quality, detect inconsistencies, and analyze their root causes.
- Document processes, transformations, and decisions related to data processing.
- Apply statistical techniques to validate hypotheses and support conclusions.
- Design and maintain repeatable and reliable analysis processes.
- Translate technical findings into clear reports for non-technical stakeholders.
- Use SQL and Python to query, transform, and automate data processes.
- Collaborate with business and engineering teams to improve data quality at the source.
Requirements:
Academic Background:
- University degree in Systems Engineering, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related technical fields.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in positions related to data analysis.
- More than 2 years of experience working with SQL in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server).
- At least 1 year using Python or R for data manipulation, transformation, and analysis.
- Experience working with raw or unstructured data.
- Practical knowledge of Git for version control.
Technical Skills:
SQL:
- Ability to independently query, combine, and transform data using relational databases.
Python or R:
- Experience using libraries such as Pandas and NumPy for data analysis and manipulation.
Data Quality:
- Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve problems related to data quality and integrity.
Statistics:
- Knowledge of statistical distributions.
- Hypothesis testing.
- Correlation vs. causation.
- Interpretation of analytical results.
Data Visualization (desirable):
- Experience with tools such as Power BI.
- Charts.
- Data visualization is considered a plus, but is not the primary responsibility of the position.
