SummaryWe are hiring a Senior Accountant who will be a member of the Finance team and will be hands-on in the company's month-end activities and daily accounting operations. This role will be critical in the day-to-day general ledger related activities with a focus on compensation and payroll accounting, benefits, employee related costs, accruals, allocations and month-end related close process.Job DescriptionWhat You'll Be Doing Own end-to end accounting for compensation related costs, including preparation of recurring payroll journal entries, benefits accruals, stock compensation, and other employee related entriesExecute monthly accounting close activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations; investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely basisPerform monthly open PO accruals, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of expenses; partner with business owners as neededPrepare balance sheet account reconciliations and account flux analysis specific to your areasReview and approve Staff Accountant’s work papers, account reconciliations and journal entriesCollaborate closely with payroll and benefits teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of data used for accounting entriesPartner with international third party accountants to reconcile corporate books (US GAAP) to local statutory books, including preparing adjusting entries as neededAssist and ensure accounting systems scaling and ensuring all systems are being used to their full functionalitySupport SEC team with preparation of schedules along with other analysis as needed.Assist management on audit request and responses to inquiries from internal and external auditorsWork on ad-hoc projects on an as needed basisAt Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.You Should HaveBS or BA in Accounting or related field5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience in a corporate/ public accounting environment, preferably in software industry; CPA preferredStrong experience and knowledge in US GAAP and SOX internal controlsExperience with Oracle Fusion/Blackline/Coupa a plusExcellent verbal / written communication skillsStrong analytical, organizational, and attention to detail skillsAbility to work independently, cross functionally and as part of a teamAdvanced MS Excel skillsFamiliarity or interest in leveraging AI tools or technologies in accounting workflows is a plus.Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your role as well as use data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, solve complicated problems, motivated to implement improvements, to inspire change while staying within the company’s culture being collaborative and inclusiveThe US base salary range for this full-time position is $94,000 - $174,000. Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan.
