Requirements and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: - Own the architecture, reliability, security, and scalability of FreightPOP's cloud infrastructure. - Define and maintain cloud operations standards, governance policies, and best practices. - Design and implement highly available, secure, and scalable cloud solutions primarily within AWS. - Lead infrastructure modernization, automation, and platform improvement initiatives. - Establish monitoring, observability, alerting, and operational health standards across the platform. - Develop cloud security strategies, vulnerability management processes, and infrastructure hardening standards. - Design and oversee backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and resiliency strategies. - Guide capacity planning, performance optimization, and long-term infrastructure growth initiatives. - Partner with Engineering teams on infrastructure architecture, application reliability, and operational readiness. - Mentor team members and provide technical leadership on cloud infrastructure and operational best practices. - Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies, tooling, and architectural improvements. - Maintain cloud architecture documentation, standards, and operational roadmaps. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 7+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related roles. - Experience designing and supporting cloud environments in Azure, AWS, or GCP. - Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform. - Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. - Strong understanding of cloud architecture, security, reliability, and scalability best practices. - Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. - Ability to collaborate with engineering teams and influence technical decisions.
