About the roleHealthBay is a leading healthcare company that provides high-quality medical services to individuals and families in the community. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Collections Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis.As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding payments from patients and insurance companies. Your main goal will be to ensure timely and accurate payment of all outstanding balances, while maintaining positive relationships with patients and insurance providers.Key ResponsibilitiesContact patients and insurance companies to follow up on outstanding paymentsReview and analyze patient accounts to identify delinquent accounts and develop a plan for collectionNegotiate payment plans and settlements with patients and insurance companiesPrepare and send out collection letters and statements to patientsRecord and update all collection activities in the systemWork closely with the billing and coding team to resolve any billing discrepanciesProvide excellent customer service to patients and insurance providers regarding billing inquiries and disputesStay up-to-date with industry regulations and changes in insurance policies to ensure compliance in collection practicesQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in Business Administration or related field preferredMinimum of 2 years of experience in medical collections, preferably in a healthcare settingStrong knowledge of medical billing and coding proceduresFamiliarity with insurance policies and proceduresExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to multitaskProficient in using Microsoft Office and other relevant softwareKnowledge of medical billing software is a plusWhat we offerWe offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
