JOB OVERVIEW: The Staff Accountant is responsible for the financial management and reporting for a portfolio of clients.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements with important deadlinesPerform bank and other account reconciliationsReview and approve peer work productReview, prepare, enter, track and report on budgetsSet-up and terminate new communities and accountsAccrue expenses monthlyRespond to a high volume of phone calls/e-mails from internal and external customersREQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING:Understanding of HOA management and financials including governing rules and regulationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAble to meet time sensitive deadlinesKnowledge of GAAP accounting principlesStrong organizational skillsComputer skills including Word and ExcelMust be very responsive and have strong customer service skillsMust be able to manage high volume of work and multi-taskAbility to work independently, but also able to work in a team environmentMust have a pleasant and professional demeanor and have the ability to manage strong personalitiesCertified Public Accountant is required
