We don’t simply hire exceptional talent; we cultivate it, creating meaningful career pathways for veterans, military spouses, and professionals who share our passion for advancing technology and strengthening the missions we serve.Position OverviewSteerBridge is seeking an Electrical Engineer (PE) to support construction and infrastructure projects across VA Medical Centers nationwide.This role supports complex, multi-phase projects in active healthcare environments and provides technical oversight of electrical systems to ensure compliance with VA standards, contract requirements, and applicable codes.Location: RemoteTravel: 2–3 times per year (fully covered)Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Engineering & Technical OversightSupport all project phases (pre-design, design, construction, closeout)Review plans, specifications, and shop drawingsEnsure compliance with VA standards and applicable codesEvaluate power distribution, emergency power, and critical systemsConstruction AdministrationReview construction activities for complianceIdentify deficiencies and non-conforming workSupport RFIs, submittals, and change ordersQuality Assurance & InspectionsConduct site inspectionsTrack deficiencies and ensure resolutionSupport testing and commissioningScheduling & CoordinationSupport project scheduling effortsCoordinate with contractors and stakeholdersAssist in resolving technical issues impacting deliveryDocumentation & ReportingMaintain project documentationSupport reports and technical evaluationsProvide input to leadership and contracting teamsOperational Impact & Risk ManagementEvaluate construction impacts on medical operationsIdentify risks related to power systems and infrastructureSupport phasing strategies to maintain patient careBenefitsHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife Insurance401(k) Retirement Plan with matchingPaid Time OffPaid Federal HolidaysRequired QualificationsU.S. Citizenship (required)Ability to obtain VA PIV badge / pass background investigationBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)5–10 years of relevant experienceActive Professional Engineer (PE) licenseExperience supporting commercial, healthcare, or federal projectsPreferred / Professional QualificationsExperience with power distribution and emergency systemsFamiliarity with RFIs, submittals, and change ordersAbility to interpret construction documentsStrong communication and coordination skillsExperience in remote/distributed teamsProficiency in engineering or construction software tools$125,000 - $135,000 a yearTarget salary range provided; final compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.SteerBridge Strategies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
