Learn more.The Reporting & Analytics Engineer designs and develops stakeholder-facing analytical applications — including interactive Power BI and HTML/CSS/JavaScript dashboards and data-rich visualizations — applying user experience (UX) design principles such as information architecture, responsive layout, and usability heuristics to maximize clarity across technical and non-technical audiences. This role performs exploratory, diagnostic, and predictive analysis across structured and semi-structured datasets, translates business objectives into measurable KPIs, and communicates findings through data storytelling, narrative-driven briefings, and self-service reporting assets. The ideal candidate is analytically rigorous, design-minded, and committed to surfacing actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making.This position is not available to residents of California.ResponsibilitiesDashboard & Visualization DevelopmentDesign and develop stakeholder-facing analytical applications, including interactive Power BI dashboards and custom HTML/CSS/JavaScript visualizations.Apply user experience (UX) design principles — including information architecture, responsive layout, and usability heuristics — to maximize clarity across technical and non-technical audiences.Select and implement front-end data visualization libraries to render complex dimensional relationships as intuitive, interactive experiences.Build and maintain reporting deliverables across Power BI semantic models, interactive HTML dashboards, and formatted Excel workbooks, translating complex dimensional relationships into stakeholder-ready visualizations.Analytical & Statistical MethodsPerform exploratory, diagnostic, and predictive analysis across structured and semi-structured datasets, applying statistical methods including descriptive, inferential, and regression analysis.Proactively mine organizational data assets to discover new insights, identify emerging trends, and surface previously unrealized opportunities that inform strategic decision-making.Perform exploratory and diagnostic analysis across structured datasets, applying profiling, cleansing, data validation, and conformance logic to ensure downstream consumability.Stakeholder Engagement & Data StorytellingTranslate business objectives into measurable KPIs and build analytical frameworks through stakeholder requirements elicitation.Communicate findings via data storytelling, narrative-driven briefings, and self-service reporting assets.Semantic Modeling & Data GovernanceBuild and maintain Power BI semantic models including DAX measure authoring, calculated table design, and row-level security configuration.Contribute to data catalog stewardship by documenting metric definitions, source mappings, and business glossary entries.Documentation & StandardsCreate and maintain technical documentation covering report specifications, visualization design standards, analytical methodologies, data source mappings, and end-user reference guides.MiscellaneousPerform miscellaneous duties, as required.Behavioral CompetenciesHighly organized with strong attention to detail and documentation rigor.Collaborative, intellectually curious, and proactive in identifying analytical opportunities.QualificationsProficiency in Power BI development including semantic modeling, DAX, and report/dashboard design.Strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for building custom data visualizations and dashboards.Knowledge of front-end data visualization libraries (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js, Plotly) and their application to complex analytical scenarios.Understanding of UX design principles, including information architecture, responsive layout, and usability heuristics.Competence in statistical methods including descriptive, inferential, and regression analysis.Experience with data profiling, cleansing, validation, and conformance techniques.Familiarity with data catalog practices, metadata management, and business glossary documentation.Strong data storytelling and communication skills with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences.Proven ability to perform exploratory, diagnostic, and predictive analysis across structured and semi-structured datasets.Track record of translating business objectives into measurable KPIs and communicating findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience working with AI tools or a demonstrated willingness to learn.Education and Work ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, preferred. Will consider candidates with a high school diploma and at least seven (7) years of experience in a reporting, analytics, or business intelligence engineering role.3–5 years of experience in a reporting, analytics, or business intelligence engineering role.Demonstrated experience designing and developing interactive dashboards and analytical applications using Power BI and HTML/CSS/JavaScript.Experience building Power BI semantic models, authoring DAX measures, and configuring row-level security.Background in cross-functional collaboration across data engineering, product, and business teams.Physical and Mental DemandsUp to 5% travel may be required.Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary.Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods.Regular use of office equipment in a remote environment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
