Our mission is to make professional development simple, engaging, and impactful—anytime, anywhere. We're looking for a Design Engineer to join our team. Key Responsibilities Customer Requirements and Objective DefinitionTranslate customer CAD data, prints, specifications, and RFQs into measurable manufacturing objectives.Review the existing NetSuite project record to understand scope and deliverables. Concept DevelopmentDevelop concept proposals and manufacturable design options.Present concepts to customers and outside sales representatives.Document all design assumptions and constraints. Manufacturing Cost EstimationPrepare complete manufacturing cost estimates.Work cross-functionally with Strategic Sourcing, Tooling Engineers, and Process Technicians.Identify cost reduction opportunities through design optimization. Prototype Design and Tooling SupportConvert approved concepts into prototype-ready designs.Provide tooling engineers with prototype tooling models and necessary design data. Generate sample requests for the sample coordinator.Work with the Engineering Manager to verify design intent and ensure appropriate liaison inspection of prototypes. Sample Review and Customer ApprovalSupport prototype and pattern builds and respond to design questions during and outside U.S. business hours when required.Communicate with customers and outside sales to secure prototype sample approvals. Incorporate feedback into updated designs. Production Tooling and Pre-Production SupportUpdate the design for production tooling.Provide tooling-ready models, issue sample requests, and support customer approval cycles.Partner with the Engineering Manager and assigned liaisons to verify samples meet design intent. Production Release and ERP DocumentationAfter pre-production approval, release the complete production package including final drawings, Bills of Materials, and Routings that meet KFI standards.Ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and alignment with ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements. NetSuite Time EntryRecord all project hours in the NetSuite Project record in a timely and accurate manner. Project DocumentationComplete and maintain ISO 9001:2015 project records and maintain within EPDM project folder. Ensure hours spent on each project are properly logged in the NetSuite Project Record. Desired Qualifications CWSA or CWSP SolidWorks certification Demonstrated experience designing thin or heavy gauge thermoformed products Exceptional SolidWorks proficiency with strong surfacing and complex modeling skills Experience working in SolidWorks PDM Professional (EPDM) Ability to create Assembly Items, Inventory Items, Bills of Material, and Routings in NetSuite Proven experience preparing manufacturing cost estimates Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Teams, Excel and SharePoint, with the ability to collaborate, share files, and communicate effectively in a remote environment Experience working within an ISO 9001:2015 environment and following established quality documentation processes Strong understanding of DFM principles for thermoforming including draft, radii, sag, cooling, shrinkage, trimming access, and tool constraints Experience collaborating with teams in the United States and Mexico Automotive OEM exposure Experience with tooling, patterns, and fixture design for thermoformed products Basic familiarity with welded metal components (approximately 5 percent of workload) Advanced EPDM or EPDM administrative training Work Environment + Language Requirements Global remote position Requires at least 3 hours of overlap with U.S. Central Time each day Minimal or no travel Fluency in the English language; written and verbal proficiency (B2 level minimum on CEFR scale) Reports to a U.S.-based Engineering Manager
