OverviewThe Technical Business Development Manager for the VitalDose® EVA business unit is a critical contributing role to the business line with responsibility for direct customer engagement in effort to grow a robust pipeline of customer projects with pharmaceutical companies for drug development. This position is accountable for creating opportunities at new customers and expanding the number opportunities at existing customers.ResponsibilitiesEngage with drug formulation experts at pharmaceutical companies to develop new opportunities for Celanese’s polymeric long-acting drug delivery platform in drug productsUnderstand the performance of Celanese’s polymer technology and be able to effectively position its value in the context of the customer’s applicationUtilize your professional network, and work together with Celanese sales & marketing teams to identify new leads, to prospect for new businessIn partnership with an account manager and sales leadership, identify key accounts and create account plans with strategies and tactics how to penetrate lead accountsCollect voice of the customer and be able to identify what customer needs Celanese can address, and then be able to partner with Celanese R&D colleagues for technology development~20% travel requiredQualifications10+ years of professional experience, preferably with more 5+ years of new business development (technical sales) for excipients or formulation technologies, and/or services, to pharmaceutical companiesBachelor’s Degree required, preferred with a degree in scientific or engineering field.Master's Degree or PhD in life science discipline or similar scientific area is a plusTechnical understanding of drug product formulationExperience in understanding and interacting within the pharmaceutical value chainStrong business acumen to anticipate and adopt trends and innovations and transform them into value propositionsStrong customer focusResults oriented focusHighly collaborative with both external and internal stakeholders
