This is a remote project with a federal client.There will be infrequent meetings onsite in Virginia so candidates within driving distance are strongly preferred.US Citizenship is required.We are seeking a Salesforce Technical Architect to support a large-scale federal cloud modernization program operating across a complex, multi-organization Salesforce ecosystem. This role serves as a key technical authority responsible for enterprise architecture, solution design, integration strategy, and governance across a portfolio of mission-critical Salesforce applications.The environment includes 50+ Salesforce applications across 10 organizations, supporting enterprise operations, modernization initiatives, and production systems at scale. The ideal candidate brings deep Salesforce architecture expertise, strong integration and DevSecOps experience, and proven leadership in designing and delivering secure, scalable enterprise solutions.ResponsibilitiesDefine and lead enterprise Salesforce architecture strategy across multiple orgs and applicationsDesign scalable, secure, and high-performance Salesforce solutions supporting enterprise operationsArchitect and support complex integration patterns between Salesforce and external systemsLead data modeling, security architecture, and platform governance across environmentsGuide technical teams in solution design, development standards, and architecture best practicesSupport CI/CD, release management, and DevSecOps processes across Salesforce delivery pipelinesOversee architecture alignment across development, integration, and production environmentsProvide technical leadership for modernization initiatives, including legacy-to-cloud migrationsCollaborate with stakeholders and senior leadership to define technical direction and solution roadmapsEnsure platform stability, scalability, and compliance within a governed enterprise environmentSupport incident resolution and production architecture troubleshooting as neededEvaluate and recommend new Salesforce capabilities, tools, and architectural improvementsRequired Qualifications10+ years of solution or technical architecture experience7+ years of Salesforce architecture experienceExperience supporting a government client or working in a highly regulated environmentMulti-org Salesforce environment experience (enterprise-scale implementations)Strong experience with Salesforce security model, including data access and permissionsExperience designing enterprise integration architectures and API-based solutionsHands-on knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce platform developmentExperience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, DevSecOps practices, and release managementExperience supporting enterprise production environments and large-scale SaaS platformsStrong communication skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders and leadershipPreferred QualificationsSalesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) preferredSalesforce Application Architect certificationSalesforce System Architect certificationPlatform Developer II certificationIntegration Architect certificationMuleSoft certifications (nice to have)Federal civilian or DHS experience strongly preferredDesired SkillsStrong enterprise architecture and systems thinking abilityProven experience leading complex Salesforce ecosystems and multi-org environmentsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to balance governance, delivery speed, and platform stabilityStrong leadership in guiding technical teams and shaping architecture standardsExperience in large-scale cloud modernization and SaaS transformation programs
