The GL Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role manages and develops the accounting team while driving the month-end close process, maintaining internal controls, and supporting external audit activities.The Accounting Manager will ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies, review reconciliations and journal entries, analyze financial results, and collaborate cross-functionally to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial records and supporting the organization’s overall financial objectives.Responsibilities:Ownership of monthly and annual financial close process (except revenue, billing and commissions) working closely with the ControllerResponsible for preparing audit schedules and coordinating completion of the auditOversee the day-to-day accounting and team (Cash Management, AP, Tax, Payroll journal entries and General Ledger accruals and analysis) overallReview and analyze monthly flux, providing commentary for notable changesContinuously review and drive automation and streamlining of internal processes (NetSuite & Zuora)Support the continued development of and automation of Accounts Payable processes to include AI and automationImprove the expense management reporting and analysisOversee Treasury Management and providing a 13 week cash flow analysisOversee tax staff and reviewing all sales, use, income, state, local and tax provisions prepared by the team or outside accounting firmManage and develop accounting personnel as we scale/growAdditional project-based work, as neededDrive to a 5 day close with high quality schedules and tick marksOversee Asset management and any auditsResponsible for Cap Software and partnering with Engineering on smooth processes with strong supportGoodwill impairment analysis, Cap software memo, Equity accountingQualifications and Skills6-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a management roleBachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceExperience in reviewing multi-state payroll journals and associated benefit entriesSubject matter expert in GAAP and internal controlsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills with experience analyzing high volume, multi-currency transactions in a global business environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of staff and management to solve problems and achieve resultsHighly detail-oriented with excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to follow through and implement process improvementsExperience using NetSuite, Zuora, Paychex and Google Suite preferredWorks across the business with business partners according to drive performance and desired outcomes.Must be a “self-starter” who has a proactive style and is action oriented.Educational BackgroundFour-year degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline and 6-8 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Reports to:Controller
