Category Manager – Hair at Confidential – Cosmetics Industry

At Blue Box Talent, we are seeking a Category Manager – Hair to join a leading beauty and cosmetics brand based in Mexico City. This role reports directly to the Merchandising Director. This position is key to developing and executing the product strategy for the hair category—including haircare, styling, and accessories—ensuring brand alignment, commercial growth, and an exceptional customer experience across all retail channels. What you’ll do: * Own the end-to-end strategy for the category, from product selection and assortment planning to lifecycle management. * Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to optimize performance and identify growth opportunities. * Collaborate with suppliers, negotiate terms, and manage brand relationships. * Work closely with marketing, visual merchandising, and operations to execute product launches and promotions. * Monitor KPIs, manage stock levels, and coordinate with planning and logistics teams to ensure product availability and profitability. * Provide input to the Merchandising Director on broader portfolio decisions and overall brand direction. What we’re looking for: * 4+ years of experience in category management, buying, or merchandising—ideally in beauty, haircare, or personal care. * Strong analytical skills and a commercial mindset, with experience managing P&L. * Passion for trends, product innovation, and luxury customer experience. * Excellent negotiation and communication skills. * Fluent in Spanish and English. * Based in or willing to relocate to Mexico City.
