About The RoleAs aSenior Electrical Engineeryou will apply advanced electrical engineering knowledge to support the design and analysis of nuclear products and projects. You will be responsible for electrical system design, instrumentation and controls, and system wiring activities, supporting operating plants and new projects. This role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams and the ability to develop and review high‑quality engineering documentation. You will report to theManager, Aux Electrical Systems and Equipmentand be located at theKitchener, Ontario Office. This position will be offered as ahybridrole. Employees working in hybrid roles are expected to work 2 days per week onsite at any of our offices located inPeterborough, Burlington, or Kitchener, Ontario. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform engineering design and analysis for nuclear products and projects, including electrical system design, instrumentation and controls, and system wiringDevelop engineering design documentation such as technical evaluations, calculations, specifications, and obsolete parts equivalenciesEvaluate and apply standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria to support safe and compliant electrical designsUse engineering software tools such as ETAP, Mathcad, Maximo, or equivalent, and learn new toolsWork with internal engineering and project teams to obtain information, coordinate work, and meet schedule requirementsQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum 5 years of hands-on electrical engineering and design experience, including recent electrical design responsibilities.Experience with hands-on electrical design including power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear replacement projects, cable routing, lighting systems, instrumentation & controls (I&C), system wiring, load flow studies, short circuit analysis, and protective relay settings.Experience preparing engineering calculations, technical specifications, design documentation, procurement specifications, and technical evaluations.Experience supporting testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering change control, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and engineering design modifications.Preferred: 2+ years of engineering consulting or design engineering experience within nuclear, industrial, infrastructure, mining, utility, or power generation projects.Working knowledge of ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, IBM Maximo, MATLAB, Mathcad, or similar engineering tools is considered an asset.Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), NEC, IEEE, CSA, or similar industry standardsWe are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices.
