We value learning, growth, and the ability to make a big impact at a rapidly growing company.We're looking for a Cloud Data Architect to join our VA team, designing and owning the technical architecture of an enterprise-scale, multi-cloud data and analytics platform serving thousands of VA users and mission-critical Veteran data.What you'll be doing:Own and document cloud data architecture across a multi-cloud environment with a primary focus on Azure and Azure DatabricksLead data architecture modernization efforts including migration strategy, data modeling, and platform engineeringDesign and implement governance, security, and compliance strategies for a platform handling sensitive Veteran PII and PHIEnable data science and AI/ML capabilities on the platform including model deployment infrastructure and data pipelinesCollaborate with data engineers, analysts, and VA stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and consumable data productsSupport data ingestion, curation, and interoperability across disparate VA source systemsBuild and maintain technical architecture documentation, security strategies, and compliance artifactsWhat you’ll bring:Proven experience designing and managing enterprise cloud data architectures in AzureHands-on experience with Azure Databricks for data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML workloadsExperience with Power BI or similar visualization platformsFamiliarity with AWS data services is a plus given the multi-cloud environmentStrong background in data governance, security compliance, and federal data standards including FISMA and NIST 800-53Experience with large-scale data migration and architecture modernization effortsAbility to produce clear, detailed technical architecture documentationThrives in a remote, collaborative Agile environment and genuinely enjoys working across engineering, product, and government stakeholder teamsCommunicates clearly and openly, whether presenting architecture decisions to leadership or working through integration design with engineersPerforms other related duties as assignedRequirements:Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
