About the role Side is currently recruiting a Localization specialist (English to Japanese) for our global translation operation. We're looking for candidates with advanced language skills and in-depth cultural knowledge.You will be responsible for correctly translating video game content and acting as an interpreter to change other associated text into English to Japanese. You will follow product-specific guidelines to ensure the maximum linguist quality and adherence to all relevant conventions. You will be working as part of a team of language specialists to produce high-quality translations, either by translating yourself or reviewing documentation.Key Responsibilities: Create or helps create glossaries and style guides following pre-defined guidelines from the client.Create or helps create characterisation documentsCarry out translation work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.Carry out revision work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminologyWork as part of a larger team of translators or revisersProvide linguistic feedback for work carried out externally.All work is carried out by meeting the outlined deadlines and industry-standard productivity figures.Requirements Native level Japanese Fluent level English (TOEIC 800)Born and raised in an english speaking environmentExperience within the translation, prefferably in Manga or gaming industry.Knowledge translation tools (e.g.memoQ,) is a plus.Be proactive with clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written).The ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and stay focused.Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.Sound research and translation judgment skills, and have self-motivation, adaptability, and professionalism.
