About the Role We are seeking a fashion-forward, detail-driven Associate Technical Designer who is passionate about product and energized by a fast-paced, trend-focused environment. This role supports the execution of garment fit, construction, and pattern accuracy from concept through production, helping bring design vision to life while ensuring brand fit, quality standards, and on-time delivery.The Associate Technical Designer plays a key role in bridging creative design and production feasibility, supporting technical execution across multiple styles and seasons.Who You AreYou are a motivated, hands-on technical professional with a strong interest in fit, construction, and product excellence. A passion for fashion trends, combined with strong technical skills and tool proficiency, allows you to support seamless execution from sample to production.Key ResponsibilitiesFit & Product ExecutionSupport the execution and tracking of garment fit, construction, and pattern accuracy from concept through productionAnalyze and track the fit process throughout the development cycle to ensure on-time approvals and production readinessPrepare for and participate in fittings: set fit schedules, measure samples, document fit notes, and track follow-upsAnalyze fit issues and propose pattern or construction corrections in partnership with senior technical leadershipTechnical DevelopmentCreate and maintain comprehensive tech packs, including technical flats (2D), construction details, BOMs, and measurement specificationsUpdate and maintain specifications and grading based on style needs, fit feedback, or vendor requestsSupport wear testing by requesting, prepping, and tracking samples; compile and analyze feedback for cross-functional teamsVendor & Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with manufacturers and vendors to troubleshoot fit and construction issues and ensure adherence to brand standardsProvide clear, actionable fit comments to domestic and overseas factoriesCollaborate with Design to maintain design intent while supporting production efficiency and cost considerationsQuality & Fit AnalysisConduct competitive market fit analysis to benchmark silhouettes, measurements, and constructionResearch and identify emerging fit trends to support continuous improvement of brand fit standardsReview and analyze return rate data related to fit, identifying root causes and recurring issuesAssist in creating fit performance reports and support corrective action plans to improve fit quality and customer satisfactionTracking & SupportManage end-to-end sample tracking, including proto, fit, PP, and TOP samplesUpdate WIP reports and support the Technical Design Manager as priorities shiftAssist with final inspections to ensure alignment with approved gold samplesRequired Skills & QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, or a related technical fieldExperience in a technical design role preferred; background in knits, active, lounge, or sleepwear a plus8+ years of experience, with a majority of experience in the apparel space Remote or hybrid work experience preferredTechnical SkillsStrong understanding of fabric properties (stretch, shrinkage, drape)Foundational knowledge of pattern making and garment constructionSoftware ProficiencyAdobe Creative Suite (Illustrator for technical flats)Microsoft Excel for data tracking and specificationsOutlook, Google DriveSlack, Whatsapp, WechatPLM experience preferred, but not requiredSoft SkillsHighly detail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to multi-task and pivot in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving mindset with a positive, proactive attitudeClear communicator and collaborative team playerTravel experience a plus, not required. This job will require some domestic travel.
