Requirements and responsibilities

We’re looking for a Lead Backend Python Engineer (FastAPI) with 10+ years of experience to join our engineering team. If you enjoy building high-performance, scalable backend systems and want to work on modern, data-driven applications in a fully remote environment, this role is for you.About the Role:-In this role, you’ll lead backend development efforts, focusing on designing scalable architectures and building robust APIs using Python and FastAPI. You’ll work closely with product, QA, and platform teams in an Agile environment to deliver secure, reliable, and high-quality solutions.What You’ll Be Doing:-Translate business requirements into technical designs through backlog grooming and story refinementConduct proofs of concept (POCs) and technical spikes to evaluate solutionsDesign, develop, and test backend services aligned with business and compliance needsBuild and scale RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPIApply layered architecture principles across application, business, and data layersTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across environmentsContribute to system architecture and ensure scalability and reliabilityDevelop and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, regression, performance)Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features on timeWhat We’re Looking For:-10+ years of experience building distributed, high-volume applicationsStrong expertise in Python and FastAPI (or similar frameworks)Advanced experience with PostgreSQL and relational database designStrong SQL skills, data modeling, and query optimizationHands-on experience with Git and version controlExperience with unit testing frameworks and test-driven developmentSolid understanding of OOP principles and SOLID design practicesFamiliarity with Agile methodologies and the full SDLCStrong communication and collaboration skillsCore SkillsPython, FastAPI, PostgreSQLAPI Design & DevelopmentAgile Software DevelopmentNice to Have:-Experience with .NET or .NET CoreKnowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging systemsFamiliarity with secure coding and cybersecurity practicesExperience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platformsExposure to CI/CD and automation tools (Jenkins, Ansible, etc.)Experience with automated testing frameworksShare Your Resume To:- alen@hanosysit.com
