Equivalent hands-on experience with relevant certifications will also be considered.Experience: A minimum of 3+ years in cybersecurity roles with a strong understanding of threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.Proven experience with configuring and managing security tools such as Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools like Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight.Technical Skills: Proficient in network protocols, firewall management, and access control models.Practical experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Bash) to automate security processes.Familiarity with cloud security environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and relevant security controls.Security Framework Knowledge: Working knowledge of security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or SOC 2 compliance.Certifications: Relevant certifications are highly desirable. Some preferred options include:CompTIA Security+ (ideal for demonstrating general cybersecurity knowledge),CISSP for broader knowledge,CEH or GSEC to showcase expertise in specific areas.Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Ability to communicate security risks and protocols effectively with technical and non-technical teams, including end-user training or executive-level briefings.Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks.
