About the jobHarris Fields Search Partners is seeking a talented mid-level Cybersecurity Engineer on behalf of our client, a leader in digital security solutions. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining systems to defend against breaches, ensuring the security of critical data. Join a team where your expertise directly supports the resilience and safety of our digital landscape.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and manage security systems to protect digital assets.Monitor and analyze network traffic for suspicious activity and implement countermeasures.Collaborate with IT and business teams to evaluate and improve security measures.Develop incident response protocols and lead investigations for potential breaches.Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with regulations.Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies, integrating best practices into security frameworks.Position RequirementsEducational Background: Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience with relevant certifications will also be considered.Experience: A minimum of 3+ years in cybersecurity roles with a strong understanding of threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.Proven experience with configuring and managing security tools such as Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools like Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight.Technical Skills: Proficient in network protocols, firewall management, and access control models.Practical experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Bash) to automate security processes.Familiarity with cloud security environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and relevant security controls.Security Framework Knowledge: Working knowledge of security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or SOC 2 compliance.Certifications: Relevant certifications are highly desirable. Some preferred options include:CompTIA Security+ (ideal for demonstrating general cybersecurity knowledge),CISSP for broader knowledge,CEH or GSEC to showcase expertise in specific areas.Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Ability to communicate security risks and protocols effectively with technical and non-technical teams, including end-user training or executive-level briefings.Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks.
