Responsibilities

• Assist the lead instructor both in- and out-of-class in the teaching and administration of the class • Knowledge and basic familiarity with computer fundamentals, computer systems, common linux commands, Github, SQL, basic JavaScript • Familiarity with how to debug and troubleshoot web applications. Out-of-Class Tasks and Responsibilities • Assist and/or collaborate with instructor to: • Grade and/or review assessments, class projects, and other materials • Enter student grades into Canvas and grading templates • Review curriculum materials and assessments weekly and report to instructor and curriculum development team any proofreading or subject-matter errors • Assist instructor with and preparation of daily agenda to students • Schedule time with instructor and students to discuss class challenges (see above) • Coordinate with instructor and/or administrative team to address student challenges • Update Salesforce data if requested by the manager (requires Salesforce access) • Attendance, certifications, etc. In-Class Tasks and Responsibilities. • Monitor class as it is in progress - checking that overall functionality (audio, video, screen appearance, etc.) is working. • Monitor instructor’s use of presentational tools (voice not muted, Chat went to appropriate people, etc., discussion board is activated properly, etc.) • Serve as class time-keeper, announce breaks and other scheduling information • Monitor students during test-taking • Monitor all students break-out groups activity • Mute students and exert other administrative controls as necessary • Monitor use of student and instructor video. During classes, instructors need to--and students, if possible, should: • Be adequately lit • Fill the screen (camera needs to capture students from the waist up, with minimal space above the head) • Be on mute until it is time to speak • Speak into a computer or external mic so they are heard • Note challenges presented during class, including (but not limited to) students who: • Seem disengaged or uninvolved with class activities • Are speaking more than other students (dominating) or are typically quiet
