Requirements and responsibilities

ABOUT THE COMPANY We are a fast-growing third-party logistics (3PL) company providing end-to-end ecommerce fulfillment services for direct-to-consumer brands. Our clients trust us to store, pick, pack, and ship their products with speed, accuracy, and full visibility into their operations. To power this growth, we are building an enterprise-grade technology platform in-house — a unified system that includes an Order Management System (OMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS), Inventory Management System (IMS), and a client-facing portal where our ecommerce brand partners can manage their entire fulfillment lifecycle. Think of it as our own version of the platforms built by companies like Stord, ShipHero, and ShipBob — but purpose-built for how we operate. THE ROLE We are looking for a Technical Product Lead to serve as the central orchestrator between our fulfillment operations team, our account managers, and our four development teams. This is not a CTO position — it is a high-impact leadership role for someone who can translate complex logistics and ecommerce workflows into clear, actionable technical specifications, project scopes, and visual mockups that our development teams can execute against. You will be the connective tissue between the business side and the engineering side. You will define the language, document every workflow, create mockups using modern AI-powered tools, and hold development teams accountable for delivering features on time and to spec. A critical part of this role is managing people — specifically developers. You need to be genuinely great with people and skilled at navigating the dynamics that come with leading technical teams. Developers can be passionate and opinionated, and sometimes that shows up as pushback, defensiveness, or a default to “we can’t do it.” Your job is to listen, understand the real constraints, and then find the path forward anyway — because we believe every problem has a solution. You know how to push teams to move fast while keeping morale and trust intact. You earn respect through competence and fairness, not authority. If you’re the kind of leader who gets the best out of people even when the work is hard and the pace is relentless, this is your role. This is a fully remote, full-time position. We are looking for candidates who can work during US Eastern or Central time zone hours to ensure real-time overlap with our operations and leadership team. Compensation ranges from $3,000 to $5,000 per month based on experience and capability, plus performance bonuses tied to project milestones. WHAT YOU WILL DO • Orchestrate 4 development teams (~10 developers total) working on OMS, WMS, IMS, and the client portal — ensuring alignment, clear handoffs, and accountability across all teams. • Translate business requirements into technical specs: Work directly with our fulfillment team and account managers to deeply understand every workflow, then document each function and process in detailed, step-by-step instructions that developers can build from. • Define and standardize terminology: Create a shared language across operations, account management, and engineering so that everyone — from warehouse staff to developers — is aligned on what each feature, function, and system component means. • Build mockups and visual prototypes: Use AI-powered tools (Bolt, Replit, Lovable, Claude Code, and similar platforms) to create interactive mock designs and UI prototypes that show exactly how each feature should look and function before development begins. • Scope and manage projects: Compile detailed project briefs and scope documents for each feature, function, and release. Define milestones, deliverables, acceptance criteria, and timelines. • Drive feature development end-to-end: Work with internal stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and plan new features — from initial concept through specification, development, QA, and deployment. • Hold teams accountable: Run regular check-ins, track progress against milestones, remove blockers, and ensure each development team delivers their part of the system on schedule and to specification. • Communicate across all levels: Serve as the primary point of contact between non-technical stakeholders (fulfillment ops, account managers, leadership) and technical teams — ensuring nothing gets lost in translation. WHO YOU ARE We don’t care about titles or years on a resume. We care about what you’ve built, what you’ve shipped, and what you can prove. If you have the skills and the track record, we want to hear from you. • Semi-technical and highly capable: You can read code, understand APIs and database schemas, and have strong familiarity with Python, SQL, AWS, and modern development workflows. You don’t need to write production code, but you need to understand what’s being built and speak the language fluently. • AI-tool proficient: You actively use and are highly skilled with AI-powered development and design tools including Bolt, Replit, Lovable, Claude Code, and similar platforms to rapidly prototype and communicate ideas. • Ecommerce and software background: You have direct experience in the ecommerce ecosystem — whether from a brand, platform, SaaS, or fulfillment technology company. You understand the order lifecycle, inventory management, multi-channel selling, and what ecommerce brands need from their logistics partners. • 3PL or fulfillment experience is a major plus: If you’ve worked inside a 3PL, fulfillment center, or logistics technology company, you’ll hit the ground running. • Exceptional communicator: You can explain complex technical systems to non-technical people and translate vague business requests into precise technical requirements. Your documentation is thorough, clear, and leaves no room for ambiguity. • Organized and accountable: You thrive in fast-paced environments, can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, and hold yourself and others to high standards of delivery. • Fluent in English (spoken, verbal, and listening): This is a non-negotiable requirement. You will be communicating daily with operations teams, account managers, developers, and leadership — all in English. You must be able to clearly articulate complex ideas, participate in real-time discussions, and understand spoken English at a native or near-native level. • Self-driven and relentless: You take ownership, work with urgency, and don’t wait to be told what to do. You see gaps and fill them. OUR TECHNOLOGY ENVIRONMENT • Languages & Frameworks: Python, SQL • Infrastructure: AWS, Dagster (orchestration) • Version Control: GitHub • AI & Prototyping Tools: Bolt, Replit, Lovable, Claude Code • Systems Being Built: Order Management System (OMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS), Inventory Management System (IMS), Client-Facing Portal WHY JOIN US • Direct access to the founder — you will report directly to the CEO and have significant influence on the product and technology roadmap. • Ground-floor opportunity to build enterprise-grade software from scratch at a company experiencing rapid growth. • High-impact role where your work directly shapes how hundreds of ecommerce brands experience fulfillment. • Performance-based bonuses tied to project milestones — as you and the team hit key deliverables and launch features on time, you will be financially rewarded. We believe in paying for results, not just hours. • Fully remote position with a fast-moving, results-oriented team. • You will be the single most important hire in bridging our operations and technology — this role is critical to our next phase of growth.
