The OpportunityTradewater Project & New Development Associates support the exploration and development of Tradewater’s International Halocarbon work globally, to scale our organization’s impact by identifying, collecting, and destroying halocarbons and potentially other greenhouse gases at the end of their useful life.Managing efforts from start to finish.The Projects & New Developments Associate role will manage efforts from start to finish from conducting research and determining feasibility of opportunities in new countries, examining market potential, building relationships with governments and other stakeholders, and seeing the work through project execution. This person will have ownership over efforts within specified countries.While Tradewater is based in Chicago, we have offices and team members around the world. The Projects & New Developments Associate position is primarily remote, however candidates must be available, able and willing to travel according to the requirements listed below, including internationally as needed. Please include as part of your application a cover letter detailing your interest and experience with respect to this role.Key Responsibilities and Duties:New Developments: Execute the processes that are necessary to understand and determine the feasibility of New Development Efforts: searching for Eligible Gases, outreach, building financial models, and others.Review and analyze regulations governing the management of Eligible Gases and hazardous waste in relevant countries.Execute and/or coordinate activities such as research, stakeholder mapping, stakeholder engagement, database and lists development, and cold outreach through calls and e-mails, among other strategies.Continuously assess New Development results with the corresponding manager(s) to determine whether it is feasible for Tradewater to execute Projects or Programs in a given country, and efficiently advance opportunities through the team’s pipeline.Project Management: Conduct the work of finding, collecting, and aggregating Eligible Gases in assigned Project Countries.Plan and execute Project operations in coordination with on-the-ground stakeholders and other departments within Tradewater.Anticipate and address challenges to Project execution and offset issuance.Manage timelines and ensure work remains on schedule.Cross-Cutting Responsibilities (Projects and New Developments): Ensure compliance with strict methodologies, protocols, regulations, and internal Tradewater procedures and guidelines.Manage budgets, monitor financial KPIs, and track costs to ensure Efforts remain within scope.Source, create contracts and manage contractors or other on the ground resources to support efforts in country.Manage inventories, invoices, and other Effort-related documentation.Prepare proposals and stakeholder-facing materials.Participate in local networks, manage local agents, consultants, and/or interns as needed.Support the building and maintenance of relationships that strengthen our global operations.Coordinate with internal departments to support successful Effort outcomes and maximize opportunities worldwide.Provide support to other members of Tradewater’s International Halocarbons Department in their Project and Program development, as needed and capacity allows.Data, Tools, Reporting, and Strategy: Ensure accurate and timely data management to feed the corresponding department and company metrics, and use it to inform effort execution, project management, strategy, and action.Prepare reports on findings and progress as required and propose strategies for expansion and optimization.Use, maintain, and continuously improve internal tools such as Effort Books, CPARF, Zoho PM, Zoho CRM, and others for Effort management, tracking, and reporting.Travel as required to target countries and events.Coordinate and/or contribute to special projects as needed to promote company goals.Requirements:Academic background in Business, Global Business, Environmental Science, International Relations or related fields with at least 2-3 years of experience with project management.Demonstrated skills or experience conducting research, engaging and/or negotiating with stakeholders, and organizing and presenting information.Demonstrated experience in project management.Strong written and spoken English language and communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to travel internationally as needed (anticipated up to 50%).Experience and ability to work independently in a professional and remote environment.Capacity to synthesize information in a clear and well-organized manner.Capacity to work in multicultural environments.Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.Resiliency and flexibility to work with stakeholders in different time zones.Ability to complete tasks thoroughly and on time.Results-driven and target-driven attitude.Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.The Application ProcessIf you are passionate about Tradewater’s mission and think you can be successful in this role, even if you don’t check all the boxes, please apply.
