Responsibilities
Senior Python Backend Engineer (Django / FastAPI) at Ruzora. Full-time contractor, 100% remote for residents of Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Costa Rica. Compensation USD 48k-72k/year, negotiable. English B2+ required. You'll join US partner companies where Python carries the business logic: some run a mature Django monolith, others a FastAPI service mesh, several are moving from one to the other. Responsibilities: design and build APIs with Django REST Framework or FastAPI; model data and write migrations that run safely against large tables; build async tasks with Celery, RQ or asyncio workers; profile and fix slow queries and N+1 patterns; write pytest suites that cover the error paths; collaborate with data and frontend teams on contracts. Requirements: 5+ years of backend development, 3+ with Django or FastAPI in production; strong PostgreSQL incl. indexing and query planning; Celery or another distributed task queue; typing, Pydantic and modern Python packaging; Docker and CI pipelines; excellent written and spoken English (B2+).
