RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform concurrent inpatient chart reviews, including new cases, re-reviews, final reviews, and closeoutsMaintain productivity standards of approximately 20 total touches and 7–8 new cases per dayIdentify documentation gaps and initiate compliant physician queriesApply strong clinical judgment to risk stratification, severity capture, and clinical validationCollaborate with coding and clinical teams to support accurate and defensible documentationInterpret and apply applicable regulatory and payer guidelinesMaintain quality standards and respond professionally to audit feedbackREQUIREMENTS:Active RN license requiredMinimum 2–3 years of inpatient CDI experienceCCDS certification requiredStrong experience with query creation and escalation, clinical validation, and complex inpatient cases5+ years of bedside RN experience in ICU, cardiac, or neuro preferredExperience with Epic Fluent/Direct and 3M 360/Solventum preferredVizient risk stratification experience is highly desirableStrong critical thinking, clinical reasoning, attention to detail, and time-management skillsAbility to defend documentation decisions with data and work effectively within a robust audit and feedback environmentImportant: Candidates must include their current state of residence with their submission.Norwood is seeking an experienced Inpatient CDI Specialist for a full-time, remote opportunity.
