Requirements and responsibilities

Climate Power is an independent strategic communications and paid media operation focused on building the political will and public support for bold climate action. Founded by the Center for American Progress Action Fund, League of Conservation Voters, and Sierra Club, Climate Power integrates hard-hitting research, polling, state and national earned media, digital and paid media to influence the national conversation, embolden leaders to take immediate, bold climate action, and expose climate deniers and their oil and gas lobby allies. Climate Power has an immediate opening for a Policy Advisor. The Policy Advisor will work with Climate Power Senior Leadership to translate federal climate and clean energy policy actions into a national narrative around the importance of climate and clean energy investments, to sell the benefits of climate action in key communities, and to block efforts to dismantle climate progress. Responsibilities: - Build and execute strategies for outreach to and engagement with members of Congress, Senate and House staff, and policy staff at federal agencies including DOE, EPA, USDA, and DOI. - Work collaboratively across Climate Power to translate climate and clean energy policy actions into communications materials. - Lead Climate Power’s engagement with policy-focused partners. - Advise Senior Leadership on climate and clean energy-related policy-related issues as they pertain to research areas, strategic communications campaigns, and other projects of Climate Power. - Develop communications materials including fact sheets, talking points, and more in partnership with political, states, communications, research, and paid media teams. - Represent Climate Power in meetings and events. - Maintain regular and timely communications with Members of Congress, congressional staff, and agency policy staff and officials, sharing insights, messaging, and other Climate Power materials. - Manage consultants and likely one or two associates. - Additional responsibilities may be assigned as need and capacity dictate.
